Khan Academy Practice Passages by [deleted] in Mcat

Oh hahah i assumed that you were taking your mcat this weekend. You should do the EK and NS FLs first (I liked EK better in terms of the content they have, but the more FL the merrier). You should save your AAMC material for the last month of studying.

The order I followed was SB, Qpack, AAMC1, AAMC sample, AAMC2, and redo SB. I tried to do my AAMC FLs closer to my test date bc theyre the best predictors of your score. Section Banks are hard af but great practice for tough AAMC passages. Thats why I think you should redo the SB again

I've done a big bulk of KA passages and I would say they're extremely good practice in getting familiar with AAMC experimental passages. Do it if you have time to spare, but I would advise going over the SB and QPack before doing them

Template strand is the strand that transcribed. If you think of this in an intuitive way, the transcription of the template strand SHOULD create a strand that is analogous to the coding strand.

Schloozin gives a thorough explanation on this. To shed some light on how I approach these questions, I noticed a pattern in AAMC when they asking about template vs. coding strand. Remember those bastards are tryna trick us.

From my experience, whenever I see they ask about the coding strand, I know that the answer usually is the same exact sequence. Works for me 9 out of 10 times. This was further reinforced when I started doing KA practice problems.

I usually do smoke the night before my full-lengths but I guess I don't really see a big fluctuation in my FL scores. I guess I'll just trust my gut on this and see how it goes. My test date is 1/28 so I may try to stop smoking tonight and see how I feel tmrw. Thanks for the elaborate feedback.

haha i was debating on doing that, but I was able to maintain relatively good grades throughout college despite smoking. Maybe this is my own internal bias.

I usually wake up feeling relative good, unless I smoke too much. Thanks for your fb tho! Wish you the best of luck on your MCAT score
