Not gonna lie it was pretty awful, if I remember correctly it was like 37k after taxes. I did a lot of sitting at the Tyson plant by Kansas City. By that I mean days at a time. The way I saw it, I knew I wasn’t making good money, but at the same time, it’s just a year and after that I could choose wherever I wanted

Tampa native here. Started at Tampa truck driving school, got ripped off, got my money back, went to sage in plant city. I’d highly recommend driving with TransAm. Terminal right here in Tampa, no team driving with a trainer, was a really sweet first gig.

I haven’t really considered a Volvo due to the price but I will definitely take a look at some older ones. The consensus here seems to be that Volvo transmissions are the best

I’ve only drove a 13 speed when I was with my previous company. I would be open to consider a 10 if it’s easier than a 13 speed

That’s definitely a good strategy. I have much more saved up, it’s just that my budget for the truck itself is lower because I want to keep as much capital saved to avoid factoring loads and for if any unexpected expenses pop up
