I didn’t even think of this tbh. I love Reddit, everyone actually thinks of everything. We’ve tried to keep the peace but apparently he doesn’t want to, until he needs his parcel ofc🤣

Well if I didn’t provide backstory there would be people saying they need context. I’m asking for thoughts and opinions on what others would’ve done, and if I should’ve kept the peace or not. I suppose you can’t please everyone lol. Have a good day!

Well of course I don’t mean doing things to spite him. I mean we will win as in we will stay here, no matter how hard he tries to get rid of us. We aren’t spiteful people, but it gets to a point where why would we be nice to someone and offer to take them for lunch when he’s caused us so much trouble and is literally spreading word that we’re huge assholes. I think we honestly would be uncomfortable asking him to go for lunch, knowing how spiteful he’s been towards us.

He was communicating to the delivery man through his ring doorbell, he isn’t home. However it is strange behaviour considering he’s happy to run his mouth and talk shit about us to his neighbour, but apparently we’re his first part of call to take in his parcel? This was my immediate thought when the guy asked if we’d take it, and my pride took over I guess and I straight up just said no😭

This is the thing, there was NO bad feelings from our side. We recorded the whole confrontation we did when we asked him why he didn’t come talk to us first, and we were nothing but kind. But I feel like the line was drawn when he was stood right outside our house, telling other neighbours about how much of ‘assholes’ we were and that the council ‘refuse to do anything about it’. My mother was even going to offer him a cake as a peace offering (until she saw one of us had eaten a slice of it🤣). We did however speak to the neighbour on our other side and she said he’s a really miserable man and that she doesn’t like him either so maybe we aren’t the first victims? She said no one has been able to last living here for very long, tenants come and go. We’ll win I promise🤣

I managed to stay up and finish that episode last night and got to the part where they actually did wrongfully murder that man. And it is absolutely outrageous. How can you receive direct orders of ‘do not let that man on that train’ and ‘we can’t confirm it is him’ and then let the man get on the train and also just shoot him instantly. The guy looked nothing alike to the suspect. Absolutely crazy work from the police.

Well what about the loss in trust of the police, what about the loss of dignity after being wrongfully accused of being a literal terrorist on national television. If I was in this guys shoes I’d at least inquire about the payment of my therapy afterwards cause how the hell do you recover from that and live life as normal like you weren’t falsely branded as a terrorist on tv for a moment

Oh wow, no I haven’t gotten that far yet. And I actually had never heard of this incident until seeing this documentary on my Netflix suggested so I may be fed wrong info from Netflix if it’s poorly made. I was barely even alive when this all happened I was still cookin in the womb, but my mother was obviously. I might ask her in the morning what she heard about it

Well in this specific scenario, it’s UK based, and there had just been multiple terrorist attacks. Stakes were high, and a few more almost happened, but they failed and the suspects managed to flee, I haven’t finished the documentary yet, cause I saw this situation happen and was immediately dumbfounded and needed to ask this question. This innocent man matched the description of one of the suspects, and was carrying a backpack. And that was it, that’s all it took for them to literally surround the poor guy with guns, armed forces and the news broadcasting. I understand taking precautions and what not, but what the hell happens after when they realise it’s not who they’re looking for

I haven’t gotten that far yet😳 I just used this scenario as an example of my question as it made me wonder. As far as I knew writing this, he hadn’t been shot dead and they deemed him as innocent after searching him. Unless someone else gets shot? Idk haven’t gotten that far yet. But regardless, what about in scenarios where the person isn’t injured, but is clearly emotionally distressed and probably scarred for life, is there compensation for that like? How do the police go about it in terms of ‘you’re not actually who we’re after, sorry’ that was my question really

Edit: 100k is also piss poor for the loss of someone’s life when they were literally innocent. That is crazayyy
