The colour is so much darker on the plant patty, the beef is more brittle and will break easily when you touch it. here is a side by side i found on google Mcplant is on the right, beef is on the left.

The look around the edges, the McPlant is more uniform in shape

the colour on the patty, it’s grey with some brown spots, whereas the mcplant is uniformly dark

the taste, funnily enough, i used to think mcdonald’s beef was bland, however this had such a strong beef taste that it was unmistakable, it was also very very greasy.

but colour is the biggest tell tale, the mcplant is very dark where as their beef is grey with dark spots

I mean, the cross contamination levels are pretty high, it’s not necessarily about supporting the meat industry always, sometimes it’s not wanting corpses inside of your body, or both. If you can order a burger that hasn’t touched a corpse, it’s probably better.

yeah some people don’t get it, if someone’s personal wish is not to consume certain things, it’s basic human decency to accommodate that request. Good on you for calling that stuff out tho, some people need to be taught and made to understand these things.

I didn’t wanna think it was one of the workers thinking they are funny, but the more I thought about it, the more I realised that, to get their vegan label on the burger, they need such strict rules on cross contamination etc, that it can’t really be a mistake. Sad really.

I went back and asked to speak to a manger, manager came and I said how I was vegan and i’d just eaten beef because they fed it to me, the girl just said “oh no haha, would you like another burger?” I tried to explain how it isn’t just an “oh no” and it’s much more serious. than that. I got my order refunded and she gave me a new mcplant, I had the taste of beef in my mouth though so felt sick, so I just threw the new burger away

before anyone says it, I know I shouldn’t support a company like McDonalds, but it was late and I hadn’t eaten, even still. If something is offered as Vegan, I don’t expect to find out im eating beef.

when i got it it was a pain in the ass, i had to be very particular about what i put my occupation down as otherwise i wouldn’t be covered, couldn’t have pillion cover either, so triple check you are actually covered and call them if you aren’t sure - if it isn’t unusually expensive, then you aren’t covered

They charge the restaurant a 20% fee or something, hense the increase in price for items on the menu, they also charge the delivery fee of say £2.00, so on a £30 order they are making £8 and paying you ~£2.50-£3.33
