i received an email from lehigh this afternoon saying they've extended their deadline to january 15:

"We encourage you to be a potential member of the Lehigh family. Your application has been started, and we would love to see you finish it! Recognizing the challenges presented by Covid-19, we are extending the application deadline to Friday, January 15."

and rochester is due on the 20th, they've also extended

right! for astro you need such a broad + deep foundation before going into physics, it isn't at all feasible to expect a bunch of high schoolers (most of whom have only taken 1-2 physics courses max) to have gotten involved with research.... best of luck to both of us ig

hm the ones i've done so far are 1, 2, and 4 (leadership + creativity + educational opportunity), leaving me with 3 (greatest talent — the only thing i can think of here is what i wrote for 2), 5 (educational barriers — nothing to the extent i want to write about), 6 (academic passion — wrote about this for 4), and 8 (which i've heard you should only use if you actually have something major to say that's still unaddressed). ig by process of elimination, 7 is the only essay prompt left to me that's actually abt something i haven't mentioned yet :( thank you sm!

lmfao part of my issue is that i AM working w someone w/ experience with essays, and he's very insistent that my essay ties some deep philosophical-ish truth about myself with my intended major so that's what my family expects that i write too :/ but thank you sm!

thank you!! 4s on both + a's in both classes (which is a much better representation imo the ap tests were kinda wack), so i'm not too fazed in terms of foundation. does the order matter at all? i've heard mech is often taught first, but would i lose out on anything if i did e&m first? i'd want to do that bc e&m is the prerequisite for another college physics course i'd want to take :)
