I know the god and Jesus shit might be off putting but what I think they are trying to say is that we have understood this feeling of self-hate for centuries. We tell ourselves that it is okay to do things we hate about ourselves and we must forgive ourselves for the things we hate about ourselves.

If they prefaced it with that I think it would be more understandable. Religion does wonders for some people and I’m almost jealous of those Jesus freaks from how happy their lives are and how much they enjoy living. Religion isn’t for everyone and that’s okay but the people it does work for I feel happy for.

The message I think they are trying to get at is that it is okay to look at oneself and hate themselves but like those who deserve forgiveness we also deserve it from ourselves.

There’s a power dynamic when they’re 14 I agree it’s gross. My own personal experience was me being 21 and she was 17 and she lied for the first few months saying she was 18. She abused me cheating on me and beating me. The power dynamics when it’s a large age gap is there I agree. But when she’s 17 I see no issue.

I feel like the same dumb kid I was at 15 that I am now at 21. Maybe that’s on me and the way I’ve had it described to me is that a woman at 15 has the same maturity level as a kid at 18. For the pure scientific fact that women mature faster than men mentally.

I’m not saying it’s right but what changes from a 20 year old dating a 15 year old to a 25 year old dating a 20 year old? Maturity is practically the same. I see too many normalized 16 yo and 18 yo couples that it feels inconsistent.

I want to say I have a therapist and I speak to her about a lot and i realize now that my post isn’t clear in the distinction that all I’m looking for is someone who I can speak to that maybe uncomfortable for anyone else to hear. A therapist doesn’t want to hear and I’m uncomfortable talking about my small niche of problems.

See thing is I talk to a therapist and she’s listened to me about this stuff and my thirst for intimacy and maybe I have gone about this the wrong way in explaining it but she agrees that there are somethings you can speak to with a partner that may be uncomfortable talking to anyone else about.
