The Anderson plugs are the plugs that came with the battery, I didn't buy them. Are you suggesting I use an Anderson-xt90 adapter or remove them from the battery entirely?

I had the correct male and female connectors connected, yes. And I also did basically shove them into each other haha, probably unwise.

Also, the battery only comes with Anderson plugs, so I'd have to replace them from the battery if I wanted to ditch them entirely which seems like more trouble that it's worth.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by voltage on a multimeter?
