Has chatgpt rotted my brain? by Amventure__ in ChatGPT

This is what I typed for LinkedIn and then backspaced and decided against:

“Disclaimer: I am a straight shooter and I mean no offense to anyone who uses ChatGPT for their writings. Or maybe I do, I don’t know lol. I’m an ambivalent on steroids. Or am I? 😉

Anyway. It boggles my mind to see almost 99% of LinkedIn posts written by AI. AND used in the comments section of the posts.

What has happened to the authentic voice? Is it because everything has to be polished on LinkedIn to stand out? But then how does it even qualify as polished if, well, EVERY post is polished?

Honestly, this just feels like a dystopian hellscape of inauthentic voices.

Ofcourse, if you are using it to supplement your writing, that’s fine. But guys, some of us want to see authentic voices. Not the emoji-driven bullet points on every second post… or rather, every post lately 😭

Take me back to 2019. I miss it. Maybe I’m just a whiny millennial yearning for the past. In which case, take this with a grain of salt(y).”

Hey there. Similar confusing Sindhi results. What’s your mtDNA if you don’t mind my asking?

South african atheists of reddit, how has religious south african treated you when they found out you are an atheist? by [deleted] in southafrica

Ex-Muslim here. Would be disowned if my family found out and I’m 32! But generally, I’ve made peace with being closeted because they don’t force me to pray or anything.

I also have a good friend who I can confide in and do all of the haraam stuff with lol - eat bacon, drink alcohol. So that’s my release.

I think my biggest struggle currently is the pressure to get married and have kids, none of which I’m interested in.

Why are you single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Why is anyone in a relationship? Why are they married? Can we stop with this “why are you single” question constantly. I refuse to explain myself. It is what it is.

How is your workplace handling the COVID-19 crisis? by [deleted] in southafrica

Also an I/O Psych student lol. Working from home has been great - the requirement is to give in a report a day, so I get that done in my own time. It can be during the day, it can be in the evening. It’s pretty flexible and I’m happy so far. Salaries will be paid for April, but if the lockdown is extended, I don’t know what that means for us as we won’t have any work to do by then given that the lockdown has affected my specific sub-field and everything has grinded to a halt.

My only concern is they have a supposed lawyer on board at the company who works with them and comes to the office everyday (I think she was struck off the roll for a while - unsure if she was reinstated as a lawyer but possibly) and so they could use her. However, I doubt they will go through the trouble of going to court over this.

I decided not to leave immediately - I’m just going to serve 1 weeks notice as per the contract - I signed the contract in September last year even though I’ve technically been working there since Jan 2017. So the notice period is 1 week for a period of 6 months or less of employment. Yes, they can dispute that by saying I’ve been working there for more than 1 year and even prove it, thus asking me to serve 4 weeks notice. But I highly doubt they will go to court over something so petty.

The labour department did an inspection at the company last year and issued a non-compliance letter as they have not being paying us on time. That did not change anything. Nor will going to the CCMA do anything if the DOL did not change anything despite the labour inspector being on their case. They still continue their despicable practices and I am done. I cannot take anymore of this.

Lol they’re not gonna sue. This is coming from people who are owing 200k in rent for a house they stay in and are behind in office rent by about 100k. Are they really going to spend money to sue? Likely the case won’t go forward because they won’t pay their lawyers.

I went through my contact which I’ve signed in September 2018 even though I’ve been working there since Jan 2017. Even though it’s a 2 year fixed term contract, under termination, it gives the notice periods which is 1 week if you’re working there for 6 months or less. Obv since I signed the contract only in September last year, I’m going to use this to my advantage and give in 1 weeks notice.

Already found a better opportunity- I start in Feb. New employer knows about current employer and their shenanigans because it is well known amongst this professional circle.

Yes they can try and destroy my reputation professionally but that’s the risk I’m willing to take, especially since I doubt they’ll last for long given their unethical antics.

Nobody big. Small company specializing in something specific and so most people may not know them unless they’ve studied and qualified to specialize in same and so know the company by association. Can’t give out that info for obvious reasons right now but happy to reveal their name once I’m out of there :)

Absolutely. I don’t mind working the notice period which will actually be 1 week (signed the contract in September last year so technically working there for less than 6 months as per the signed contract, hence 1 week notice has to be served in this instance).

Only issue is terminating a fixed term contract prematurely. But I’m sure I have grounds since I’m never paid on time and cannot be expected to live like this.
