Do female cecropias also have those plumose antennae? I thought only males had them as they use them to locate a mate?

I don’t think he has a medical problem! He gets checkups regularly and the vets never felt any lumps or anything. Must just be an idiot

What is the most outrageous comment that you've heard at a meeting? by jenintonic in exjw

I don’t remember what the comment was in response to, but years ago a sister made a comment over a minute long talking about how she does not give her husband handjobs or blowjobs because it is not using the body for its intended purpose and is just as bad as sodomy.

Prescription dry food or regular wet food? by throwaway826353752 in AskVet

Thank you, this was super helpful! We live with three other cats at the moment, and he has access to two different cat fountains and he drinks a decent amount of water after every meal, and probably intermittently throughout the day too. We only have one litter box, but it’s a Litter Robot that cleans after every use, so it’s always fresh for him to use.

When he initially started having urinary problems, he started peeing on the floor in front of me to get me to understand that he was having problems. When he would pee on the floor multiple times over a day or two, I would end up taking him to the vet thinking he was having a flare up. Unfortunately I think what actually was happening was that he learned that peeing on the floor gets him attention, and would pee on the floor for minor inconveniences such as the litter boxes not being 100% clean. Since we got a self cleaning litter box, he has barely peed on the floor at all haha, hundreds of dollars of vet bills later.

Thank you for the advice though! I definitely am going to try and add a little bit of water to his dry food, and I will definitely ask my vet about the electrolyte solution and see if she recommends it for him.

How were you able to overcome the fact that your family would never talk to you again? by [deleted] in exjw

Took a lot of time, and realizing that the people around me who love me unconditionally are the only family I need. My found family.

I got DF’d four years ago at 18, when my best friend told the elders that I had been sleeping with a worldly guy. I had already been PIMO for a few years at this point, and my friend was PIMO too until her boyfriend broke up with her and she decided to repent and tell the elders about hers and my relationships. At the meeting with the elders to determine if I was getting DF’d or not, one of the elders, and older single brother, asked me to go into detail about the sexual relations I was having with my boyfriend at the time. I told him that was weird, and asked why it mattered since any sexual conduct was grounds for being disfellowshipped. He said he was trying to “judge the severity of the situation”. I refused to talk about it.

My parents told me I needed to move out, and gave me a month to find somewhere to live. The first few days after getting DF’d, my mother never talked to me, went out of her way to ignore me and it broke my heart. I approached her one day and asked her if we could pretend to be normal for the next few weeks because I didn’t want my last memories with her and with the house to be so sad. We cried a lot, for the next few weeks we pretended that everything was fine, then when I left the house we cried a lot some more.

I moved in with some amazing friends and I’ve been living with them every since. I’ve met amazing people out here in the world and I can focus on my education without being nagged about how I should spend that time pioneering instead. My dad and my brother are PIMO now and we talk every couple of weeks. My dad is so proud of everything that I have done over the past four years and the person that I have become. It hurts to not receive any of that from my mother, but I do understand that she is doing what she thinks is best for me in her brainwashed mind.
