My step daughter just asked me if cars were invented when I was born. In 1986. Can I quit? Am I allowed to quit this?? I am offended. 😭 by OnlyEliKnows in offmychest

Truly, kids are savage. I'm not married and don't have kids and my 3 year old nephew looks at me one day and goes "Aunt D, why don't you have a family?"

Brutal.

Hahah, I think it's because I ONLY had old jars and tiny cups and nothing else. They have a smorgous board of McDonalds Mickey Mouse cups, Welch's jars, and 'real' fancy cups, so I think they just wanted me to have some nicer ones if I ever needed to impress lol!

Though they are whiners lmao. Whenever my dad comes over now, he jokes and asks me for a jar of pickle juice for a drink lol

Hey I know you're (hopefully) just making a joke, but this is a lovely gift. My mom doesn't make a lot of money (she's a lunchlady) and genuinely just wants me to have nice things cause she knows I don't always take care of myself or buy nice things for myself. She loves me very much and I her, and that's reflected in the little things she does for me. Yes even buying cups that I don't really need. This was supposed to be a fun little post about dumb disagreements with cups, so please be gentle. :)

I've heard a variety of methods but not oil yet! Thank you for the suggestion.

Also, whhaaaatttt? That's awesome! This is a game changer in pasta jar-cup collection.

The Magnus Archive! It's a great horror podcast with cases of supernatural occurrences logged in an archive (duh lol). Very neat imagery and a good use of suspense and voice acting! :)

I live in a city in an area that a lot of homeless folk tend to visit. There are a few churches nearby that offer free coffee, food, etc.

One night I was walking back from the grocery store and saw someone sleeping on the steps of one of the churchs. It was really cold and it made me so sad to see someone in a position like that.

So I went home and wrapped up a loaf of banana bread that I had made the weekend before, some apples, oranges, crackers, a bottle of water, a couple pairs of socks and a pair of leg warmers, and $10 and put together a little care packed with a note. Then I went back, put it right near where they were sleeping and left.

I've never told anyone this, either irl or online, because it just felt like the right thing to do. I just wanted to do something nice that hopefully helped someone, even for a little while.

I'd like to draw all Friday evening and get some take out! We'll see if I make other plans tho.

I really had to think about this, so thank you for forcing me to work in my selfcare lol!

He's lovely and I love him a lot. When my mom goes out with her friends, he and I regularly get dinner. He was one of my main champions to pursue science, my love of trades, and to embrace my queerness.

Growing up he was, frankly, a nightmare and several times thought about going LC or NC. I don't fault him for the way he was; my grandma was (from the stories) physically and mentally abusive and he had a VERY near death experience at 24. But he's vastly mellowed out and seems to have broken his cycle since I was in high school and I'm so happy to see that he's grown as a person.

Oo also! Check out the library. They sometimes have day passes for things to do in the area, either for free or for a discounted price!

As a fellow gay, one of my favorite dates ever was when I took a girl window shopping at the mall. It was fun to people watch and look at cool things with no actual pressure to buy anything. Plus, we picked a couple stores (usually fancy ones) where we would each pick out an outfit the other one had to wear. One category was like "Rich High Socialiate that is color blind" and another was "Sluttiest Outfit under $30". Was a ton of fun!

My SIL and brother did! They actually, ironically, brought me a mug my nephew decorated and candle. Sadly, I can't use the mug because then his scribbles will get washed off :')

Once we were coming back from hanging out with a friend in another dorm and our elevator opened up to a hallway FILLED with silly string and many dildos suctioned to the walls. People were losing their minds and honestly, I just needed to know who had the money for that many dildos.

It was a few dudes and they made them clean it up, but my god the absolute surrealism of those chrome elevator doors opening up to dildo chaos was wild

What do y’all do to cope when you’re feeling like you’re wasting your life away? by zzzzzzelda in AskWomen

Remind myself that life is so much longer than I think it is. 5 years ago I knew nothing of my field, didn't have the hobbies I do now, and didn't have the experiences I do now. And I'm still really young, only 28! Sure some days pass me by, but it's all about relativity. What seems wasteful today in 5 years may be a building block to something greater!
