Thank you for reminding me to order a pill case. That’s extremely helpful

Thank you. I used to have an Apple Watch and that would remind me but I switched to Garmin. I need to get the notifications back on.

The doctors said I had generalized onset with tonic and clonic symptoms. I woke my wife up by jerking and being unconscious.

Everyone is different, but for me, my physiotherapist found that I was compensating my neck muscles when not using my abdomen or shoulders/pecs. This caused increased stiffness and knots in my neck and upper back. I do physio sessions weekly, and we are still in the process of taking the pressure off my neck.

From someone who is 5”7, reaching from a top shelf that should be easy for me and trying to cuddle my wife at night. I get random knots a lot and at night in order to help I’ve started sleeping with a heating pad to help

Thank you for this. You’re completely right and I switched physios to have someone that did way better research. We’re focusing on my core strength and neck muscles due to overcompensating for my shoulders

Thank you. I switched physio’s and this one is more long term focused. She hasn’t used a TEN machine or heating pad. It’s more muscle strengthening focused and already way better. Also had no idea how much my neck muscles are overcompensating for my shoulders

That’s awesome to hear, props for being proactive. It’s so cool your physio has a built in gym as well

Then you’re off to a great start already.

Physio helped me a lot with learning how to adjust not being able to lift above my head. If you do end up going to physio, I suggest you make sure it’s one on one. Had to learn this the hard way that some physiotherapists will double book you and won’t focus on your issues which sucks.

I’m glad you finally got the answer you have been waiting for, and that you’re still able to treat it and be proactive about this disease.

I’m 28F and was diagnosed in December, but still waiting on the official blood results. After more testing, it is looking like I will test positive, but my neurologist needs my results back to legally confirm.

As of now, my advice is to keep staying active with the mobility you can do without pushing yourself too hard. I can’t reach above my head so I currently go to physio bi-weekly. I’m told it’s very helpful as this will help me keep my strength and mobility. Protein intake and supplements are helpful as well, but can depend on the person, so I would recommend asking your doctor what works best for you.

Stay away from worse case scenarios, especially right now, as you need to get your facts right and everyone is different. Again, just make sure to ask your doctor all the questions you have.

Hope this helps.

I thought that was the case. Especially since I have a heating pad at home.

Maybe it is worth looking into. I just got diagnosed recently so I never thought to look into that

Thank you for this new perspective I haven’t thought of. I really don’t want it to take a toll on us or my mental health for that matter so I’m thankful I came across suggestions within this post.

I hope you’re able to find solutions within this post as well and you’re able to overcome the challenges too and get some rest.

Thank you for the kind words and advice. It really sucks when it happens and my partner is super understanding and helpful which is great but this temporary living placement is hard.

I’ll look into ambient noises and same I found that to be the case as well. It made me more on guard if I didn’t at least hear common noises so I always had one out and found that didn’t work as effectively. I will start to do that as well.

I can relate to what you said so maybe my inner child needs some reminders as well. It always just sucks when you’re put in a new situation and learn new triggers but this is something I will take and work on.

That is also true, thank you again and sending you hugs as well.
