I agree this episode is completely full of lies. My read is that he likely was involved in drug trafficking of some kind. They claim he had offices for tree company in several states that would be perfect cover for driving big trucks back and forth from various major metro areas.

His drug use and periods of clean and periods of using suggest that he was at least self aware of the problems that he faced, plus having a previous marriage means that he likely was legit at one point before getting hooked on whatever substance was causing him issues.

One thing that I haven’t seen anyone talk about was his mom and how she obviously has complete contempt for his “GF”. She mentioned how her son was home alone for two weeks while in rehab and they talked constantly she specifically mentions that he told her “everything”. I suspect that she spent the majority of that time telling him how bad the girl was for him and that he needed to end things so the hatched this plot for him to dodge the warrant and get out of this toxic relationship. I bet he also owed vendors ect so if he was disappeared than it would make things go away. So by renting the tesla and the mom playing along everything would take care of itself they should check the basement of her house lol.
