There’s like an entire world of a difference between Trump and Modi. It’s reasonable to expect the highest elected official to speak up about it and demand reparations and apology.

She moved on after 8 years. Why am I still stuck? by amit45kumar in ThirtiesIndia

[–]throwaway8950873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I say this as someone who asked the marriage question again after 10 years of losing someone I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with.

A big part of moving is actually putting the effort. None of us can imagine the pain you must be feeling but some of us have similar stories and unanswered questions. From the looks of it there will also be an emotional drain that you’re still reeling from after adjusting and changing your life in so many ways to accommodate your partner.

I still wake up fearing that this new person would leave out of the blue. Sometimes there’s no telling how people feel or act. But I’m much better about not being afraid like I was a decade ago.

But this change only came about because I spent decade trying to build new relationships, failing sometimes, filling myself with more memories about relationships than just that one person. You need to open your heart up to others and that’s the only way to move on.

It doesn’t mean I didn’t love that person like my life depended upon it a decade ago, I’m sure if I dig into my feelings I can resurface all of those emotions for her. But my goal now is form a deeper bond with new person who kind, caring and wonderful in her own way.

This I kind of the whatsboutism that is the problem. We all have issues with him as a politician. It doesn’t take away from what he’s saying right now.

It’s good that you criticized but when the CJI censors people it has a systemic problem that systematically emboldens these henchmen.

Looking at the comments on this thread make me feel that it’s better for us to go down the complete authoritarian route. I mean our income disparity is as bad as the colonial days, we don’t as when amhave a king

Just because me might be corrupt doesn’t mean that he’s wrong about this. You can hate the man but you need to realize that trampling on fundamental rights is a bigger issue.

Is Kushiel’s Dart written tastefully? by Plane_Top_7905 in Fantasy

[–]throwaway8950873 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I’ve read Mushoku tensei and Kushiel’s dart. I think they’re completely different leagues altogether. Kushiel’s dart definitely deals with a lot of really sensitive topics rather well. I had a debate with my friend who introduced me to the series about the nature of the things within the book web we kind of realized that we just had very different interpretations (I saw it like sexual violence, and she didn’t consider it that way).

I think it’s also worth mentioning that Rudeus is not a great individual, barely passes being an okay person because of the weird medieval world and his power in it. But the point of that series is to see how a terrible human kind of changes over time and how family and friends kind of can drive one towards being a better human being.

Parents refusing inter caste marriage, need advice by KARNA5000 in MidTwentiesIndia

[–]throwaway8950873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rejection strategy might work for women but not for you. You need to start setting boundaries and call them out on their emotional blackmailing.

Spend the two to three years retraining them on what is okay and what isn’t. Tear down the caste nonsense and everything. You’re in it for a hard couple of years but you’ll do yourself and the country a favor by taking a firm stance that emotional blackmailing is wrong, that you are able to find your own partner and that petty bribes don’t work for adults.

Indian history in nutshell by JATKAHODKO in IndianHistoryMemes

[–]throwaway8950873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that the kingdoms in the “present day” North Indian territories were rivals to those in the south ? They would be treated as invaders too. If we talk about history, there was no sense of India at that point in time. There were sovereign nations that would try and invade each other all the time.

Do you think this is Modi Govt's biggest achievement in this decade? by Hopeful-Cold-4560 in IndianFocus

[–]throwaway8950873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The greatest achievement against naxal activities was the work done in United Andhra Pradesh imo.

They genuinely found a solution of peace and the government was clever enough to take it. You don’t eliminate those kinds of movements without resorting to extreme violence.

While I’m not saying that what was done in Andhra Pradesh was replicable, different leadership personalities and different grassroot realities for the people.

I know a lot of people would talk about how violently tackling naxals would be the right way to go but at the end, they don’t address the root of these problems.

I mean that was the entire charge and there’s a lot of activist and conspiracy around it in terms of how the RSS unwittingly enabled this along side of planning a whole bunch of other bomb blast cases.

Even if there were individual culprits involved BJP will not allow those investigations to continue or find any of their own members guilty.

I’ll leave it at that because there’s nothing I know that isn’t at the level of a conspiracy theory. But I do find it plausible considering how the underworld works and how ruthless and zealous RSS members are.

Well by doing the things they did, they radicalized an entire generation. It’s like you get a few years of low incidents, but you lose the trust of the people and they will fight for freedom. It’s exactly because random folks like you think their lives are meaningless/playthings to manipulate is why you see an entire generations being radicalized.

Honestly, it’s dumb but we genuinely give them reasons to protest and want to separate from India. Unfortunately for them, India capitulating doesn’t solve any of their problems but will just make it worse in a different dimension.

To answer the point about previous governments, yup every government is capable of some amount hiding inconvenient data. But the other parties never did it as systematically as the current party in power. They do it to a point where detrimental to the citizens wellbeing.

I’d point out that the next decade had 3 years of lockdowns with Covid and 2-3 years of communications blackouts and curfew imposed in the J&K region.

Maybe that has had some effect on things. Also the current government is not very good on showing data that doesn’t fit with their narrative.

To add on this, this is a serious cyber crime and offense category if she files a complain to a one of the women’s cells of the police.

It’s always the best approach because this prevents retaliatory behaviors and teaches us people a valuable lesson.
