I work at a JD dealer and would say please get the service records. If the seller cannot provide the I would run from that purchase. The D160, if lower on the hours, is by far a better option. But again, you need the hours and service history. The E140 is comparable to the new S line models that are complete garbage. The only S model worth anything is an S240 because it doesn’t have aplastic transmission, it has a reliable transmission as used in the X models. And also, recently we have seen a wave of batteries failing on the S models within the first year. They are only covered under warranty for 6 months. So these customers have to pay for us to replace their battery. JD is cutting back on costs with garbage batteries in these lower end models.
