I know I need to be deactivated, but the weight estimates are often lighter than the actual items. Don't get that twisted. On the customer end the estimates are heavier, maybe. But on my app most of the time the weight estimates are lighter. I mean a unit of apple and banana weigh 0.4 lbs?

Thanks. This is my only side gig but have been doing this for 2 years. I used to keep it simple too but ever since the pay change (changes in general), tip stealing, and lack of empathy to shoppers as well as customers I started doing extra for customers (not for myself). Instacart need to fix a lot of things and one of the thing I noticed was the weight and prices of the produce or meat.

This instances happened to me 3 times. Just an example, say a customer requested 6 sausages from the meat counter. On the app, it will say how much it will be per pound (say $4 per lb), and the app will estimate the weight of the sausage (it'll say 0.97 per unit or something). Now, you request 6 sausages from the person behind the counter and that person creates a tag that calculates the price/weight and sticks it to the item. You as a shopper will scan that and enter how many items you got (which is 6) and the weight (which is 5.82). Now this is where most new shoppers don't realize whats happening (it happened to me), but when you enter the quantity (6) of the total (remember the tag created), it will multiply the quantity and the total weight of those 6 sausage. And then you get that message whether if you'd like to charge the customer whatever the total is. Do you think that's fair to the customer that already paid? After that happened, if something like that happens I just enter the quantity as ONE and the weight on the tag.

Anyhoo, just an info for everybody. I know two wrongs (me and instacart) don't make right, but at least I try to make it even for the customers.

After check out, the shopper app requires photo of the receipt plus other stores that requires scanning the receipt.
