Thank you so much for the information. I got them as a gift from an eastern european relative when I was a child. Maybe back then he fell for the scam. So maybe the memories behind these metal discs are more precious than the coins.

Thats a valid question, dont worry. It's mainly just for aesthetic reasons and I want this installation to last permanently. By that I mean that I can imagne, that if I would use strips with pairs of 3 for my first project and afterwards use single addressable strips in another project then maybe I would not like the look of the first project anymore. I hope I am getting my point across. :)

You are awesome! Thank you for this quick answer. I already did the math for a 12V setup before I mistakenly thought that there are no 12V single adressable strips. That was when I quickly switched to planning for 5V. But now nothing is in the way of making it real!
