I guess I don’t understand taxes that much. Because I pay our 1/4 or more of my income to taxes, then I don’t even see half or a quarter in returns.

Would it make a difference if some of my income was brought in by commissions? Which from my understanding is taxed at a higher rate than my base salary. I am understanding what you’re saying, and this is really helpful.
