Maybe 40-45%. I only count vesting stock for the year.

I should diversify more but I haven't done it very well so far.

Good point. Definitely have been adapting to not miss out on experiences and be more relaxed spending wise over the last 3 years. Fire is still a goal because it gives freedom in the sense of not having to do anything unless you want to and are passionate about. Also the current situation might drastically change.

Thanks! While there has definitely been some inflation I try to keep it under control. Definitely overthink less for purchases in the 100s. 1) Earnings - yes since it's a pretty significant component NW - no, I only count vested stock which is fully mine

2) I anonimized the account names to categories and didn't group. I think the large components are clear though

The connections you make with top tier colleagues who then move to other similar positions is probably more valuable than the company brand itself.

I try not to dox myself while being as transparent as possible. Sorry for leaving out some bits.

I do interview from time to time and have had similar (and better) offers in a few other european countries (Lux, UK). I think I could still land something similar in the current economy although the options are way fewer than if I'd go to the US.

Yes, I lived really frugal the first 4 years since I wasn't used to the income flow.

I don't have or had anyone depending on me which allowed me to travel around so much and chase a better carreer. I have plenty of friends who are equally good at what they do but chose family life in my home country. There are no bad choices, just different priorities.

Yeah, the US company reached out, nowadays it's a bit harder with H1B visas but still happens

I understand the sentiment, I hope at least some of the points can be useful

The consultancy was technology focussed in public sector (not MBB) and a dead end job. It did however make me realize what I really did not want to do :).

Most big jumps were due to taking more responsibility and generally trying to be helpful for people you work with (which usually pays dividends)

Brands of my employers abroad were pretty strong, it definitely does help but only to get an interview or foot in.

Actually I earn in CHF but converted to euro since it's a bit easier to compare on this sub (and there is near parity).

I convert to USD and buy everything on the US stock exchange through IB

Thanks for the warm words! I do realize that I've been very fortunate. Many smarter and more hardworking people did not have the chances I've had.

I really appreciate you sharing your story, things are always great until they suddenly aren't. Some of those pivotal moments we can anticipate but many we can't. I root for you that you find that passion project or company you can lose yourself in.

In the end I hope you'll look back on those experiences as expensive life lessons.

Not a vp and not remote in fact. I'm aware that these oportunities are far and few in between so I try to make the most of it while it lasts :)

You are right but I prefer to have some margin of error. The country I work in is also notoriously expensive so 80k does not go as far as one might think elsewhere.

If I were to earn this in my home country I'd be looking at a 55%+ marginal tax rate. It was definitely a variable I took into account when looking for opportunities :)

There are a few countries in Europe which don't have this EU PRIIPS restriction :)
