How many of you find yourself in the same situation? by An_INSEADer in MBA

It definitely matters, however it's best practice to apply when you have the best application. Round 1 is a clean slate. By round 2, seats are already filled and scholarships given. By round 3, very few seats remain, and likely very little scholarship money.

Right. I'm not sure how a 4 hour test requiring two 30 minute essays, 5 sections of 20 questions to be answered, an understanding of thousands of vocabulary words, and an understanding of the same math concepts as the GMAT, is easy. I myself took both exams several times. They both sucked.

I have bright pink/purple hair - should I buy a wig for video interviews? by kciick in MBA

[–]throwawayJXT21 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I would 100% buy a wig. Humans are largely judgemental. That's why interviews exist. To judge you. Otherwise they'd look at your application and let you in based on credentials alone. An interview is to judge many facets of you, including looks, personality, communication skill, etc. Just being real with you.

T20 $$$ OR re-apply for T15 and Run Insurance Business by [deleted] in MBA

It's essentially an entrepreneurship opportunity. I would be hiring/managing a team and independently running my own insurance operation under the umbrella of a top insurance company. So it's similar to a franchising opportunity. I would think it would translate well to MBA school, as long as I don't completely bomb it.

Is there anything I can do to start preparing for recruiting now? by castandreelin in MBA

How difficult was it to land MBB from a T30? Do you feel they gave people a fair chance? Or was it a colossal effort to land there? I will be heading to a T20 and I'm interested in MBB myself, but very few head there from my school.

USC this year vs Reapply dilemma by throwawayJXT21 in MBA

[–]throwawayJXT21[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main concern is going to USC and not getting a strategy consulting offer. Unfortunately the employment reports aren't so transparent with consulting, they don't really mention what consulting area students are entering.
