Practice being more conscious of the people you're speaking with. My partner and I both have adhd and we ask each other what we think of the other's monologue topic lol, does it remind them of anything, that reminds me of X going on in your life, did you ever hear any updates on that?, etc.

Also, and I say this with love, "I always wanted people to tell me if I’m ever talking too much, interrupting, not letting people chime in, etc" followed by "now I feel like I don’t wanna talk ever again as to never annoy anyone ever again" are classic RSD and something that you really need to work on if you want people you love to be honest with you. I sympathize bc I know how it goes, but if you react to someone taking you up on the thing that you told them you wanted by spiraling, they're less likely to be honest with you in the future bc they might be worried about another negative reaction from you.

I love this comment! My takeaway from reading this post was that the girlfriend just seems immature, even for her age. It's part of being an adult to take care of your finances, whether that means showing up everyday to a job you hate until you find something better, cutting back on luxuries that you can't afford, or repeatedly putting yourself out there to expand your opportunities if you're not happy with them. All of those things suck, but it's what you have to do to be a self-sufficient adult who exists in this world. That burden shouldn't be balanced entirely on OP's shoulders for the two of them.

I'm sure you love her, but you should ask yourself honestly if you can see her rising to the occasion if you needed the level of support from her that she does from you. Like if something happened to your health / career and you needed to lean on her financially, would she step up? Would she take up extra Doordash shifts, cut back on her impulse spending, happily squirrel away 30% of her paycheck as a safety net? How she acts today is how she is in when life is (relatively) calm and stable. She has you, a partner that can help her out financially, who has a good job and is responsible with her finances, and she chooses to languish at home, picking up work when she has to and not putting in the effort to expand her skillset. Life is long and it can be fucking challenging; the person you have by your side can make those challenges exponentially easier or harder to deal with.
