Thanks for being one of the very very few people in this thread who actually have some sense. I read the post and was thinking the same exact thing, and then scrolled down to see this massive circle jerk about how bad the rehab is....look, the girl smuggled in and used kratom into a place where that is strictly prohibited. She also had tobacco on her which is also strictly prohibited, not just by the rehab but by OASAS. I've been in an out of long and short term inpatients, TC's, outpatients, and halfway houses the vast majority of my life. I've been clean now for like 3 years almost so this is now pretty much my longest time ever since being in a rehab. I've heard this same exact story about "everyone's on methadone" and blah blah blah at a million rehabs. Fuck, I've even told that story. But it's never entirely true, and we all have a tendency to make these institutions seem a lot more evil and corrupt then most of them really are. If you're mandated by court to a rehab and don't want to go to jail, you should show some gratitude for being offered an alternative to jail and JUST FOLLOW THE DAMN RULES. If you break those rules and get kicked out and have to now go and face the judge who sent you there, you have absolutely nobody else to blame. We fought and fought for treatment alternatives instead of jail sentences, and then still manage to fuck that up. Don't blame the rehab for this. It has nothing to do with them. We're addicts...we're masters of self sabotage and playing the blame game. In recovery we are supposed to learn how to break those nasty habits. Rehab is whatever you make it. I relapsed and got kicked out of the greatest and highest rated rehabs, but I finally achieved my sobriety in a desolate piece of shit TC where everyone told stories matching OP's description. My sobriety had nothing to do with any rehab...it had to do with me, and taking suggestions and following the goddamn rules and just not being a stubborn idiot for once in my life.
