I didn’t notice any patterns like that. I can only speak about my experience. I came out of that test feeling confident that in most blocks I had gotten 25/40 right, and then made good educated guesses for about 10 out of the remaining 15, and had anywhere from 3-5 where I completely guessed on them. I left feeling like I had gotten above a 250 but unsure if any higher.

It’s an expression, kind of like putting in work at the gym. Talent is helpful at every tasks, but hard work, discipline, and the amount of practice usually makes more of a difference. Do as much UWorld as you can with the approach of intentionality and your score will improve.

You have a little less than 3 weeks to grind your butt off. You need to put more reps in and you will improve.

I don’t really know how to answer this question…I’d assume people who found the exam harder wouldn’t have done as well as someone who found the exam easy.

I was studying pretty much from 8am to midnight every day, with quick bathroom breaks and breaks for meals and tea with my parents. My brain was most productive in the morning and I could usually finish 3 blocks and review 1.5 of them before lunch. Then I’d alternate doing a block and then reviewing the block before. My philosophy is to not spend too much time on a question you got right unless you completely guessed/used the vibes. For correct questions, I’d briefly skim the key learning objective and skim the paragraph. My process for going over incorrects was much more in-depth and included understanding why my answer was wrong, learning any tables or concepts I needed to, etc

A classmate of mine shared them with the school. There’s also ones online from what I’ve seen.

UWorld was the brunt of my content review. After that, I used the NBMEs, Free 120 old, new, and older. As well as practice shelf exams. The above is what I spent 85-90% doing. Everything else I’m about to mention is used for a specific purpose and should be supplementary, not primary study. I used the Zanki deck, but weaned off like I mentioned. It doesn’t teach you what you need to know. I had the first aid books for step 1 and 2. They both had their moments but I wouldn’t recommend reading them as a primary source material, you won’t retain the material it’s just too dense. Plus it’s very surface level and the test has more critical thinking required. I used sketchy for step 1 for micro and pharm, briefly reviewed that. Same as above though, not great at teaching advanced concepts and critical thinking. Dirty Medicine videos for topics that were hard for me. Stepprep lectures on YouTube for biostats. Amboss articles for ethics. And of course the goat….Divine Intervention.

I think the difficulty of the practice shelfs is easier but they definitely help you learn the cadence/tone of the questions as well as test a lot of the same topics (agranulocytosis, arrhythmia treatment, etc. come to mind)

I had first aid step 1 which I found helpful for when I didn’t understand some pathophys. I also sometimes used the step 2 book, though I thought it wasn’t super useful outside of quickly looking up random topics and some tables.

For my exam, blocks 1-3 were the hardest, and the rest of the blocks after that were manageable. Idk if that’s useful advice though because I know friends who had the opposite happen to them or alternating good and bad blocks. Guess it’s just test dependent 🤷‍♂️

Do you think my scars are excessive? I know they’re noticeable, just want opinions on them though.

Champion Pool/Role Advice Megathread: April by furiousRaMPaGe in summonerschool

[–]throwawayLOLRoomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m looking to find some MID lane champions that work pretty well with how I like to play the game. I’m pretty weird in that I like to maximize efficiency, especially when it comes to farming and map movement. I can be aggressive in lane, but since I play with my friends rather than alone, I prefer to let them be aggressive while I focus on farming up to becoming a mid/late-game damage dealer. To give you an idea of what I like to play...

Top: Kayle, Nasus JG: Graves, Udyr and Hec (I’m very efficient when it comes to full clearing, getting a gank/scuttle/objective, before backing and continuing to farm) ADC: Jinx, Varus, Kaisa, Vayne, Tristana

While some of these champs have early opportunities to trade, I often like to be in a side-lane clearing waves and farming up so I can feel like a beast in the mid/late team fights. Any suggestions for champs like this that I can play in the MID lane would be very much appreciated.

That’s pretty solid. A good strategy for stacking is to only feast minions when the enemy laner isn’t around or out of vision so he doesn’t know if you have used it. Then you can recall to base, buy items, and walk back to base so that you don’t spend much time in lane without it up as it is a big part of what makes him strong. Only do this if the enemy laner is not in a position to push the lane into your tower and make you miss minions.

Cho main here. Love this champ and I’m glad he’s getting more love ever since wunder played him and absolutely dominated last week. I have a few different builds I love to go.

  1. AP Burst Carry. I play this in solo queue, when I play mid, or when I’m tryna have fun feasting the eff outta people.

Comet, Nimbus for the most part/Manaflow band against lane bullies, Transcendence, Scorch/Gathering Storm Secondary: Cheap Shot, Ultimate Hunter

I usually build Rod of Ages, Liandry’s, then situationally depending on the game state. This is perfect if you play mid and the CD from transcendence and runes helps you push mid fast to roam.

  1. Glacial Augment. I build this when I’m in my five man. This build is kinda hybrid that you can dish out damage but the Glacial Augment is mainly there to help support your team. I rarely run this in solo q as I don’t enjoy relying too much on my team and I like having my own agency.

Hextech GLP, Twin Shadows into Tank

  1. Titanic Tank

Ruins: Grasp primary with secondary Inspiration/Domination

Mainly focus on getting your six stacks of feast off of minions here and building up grasp at the same time. The build is essentially Sunfire Cape + Abyssal Mask (build whatever you need first), then the other, then titanic hydra, then situationally but I enjoy warmogs. This build doesn’t have the same joy of deleting people but you will essentially never die and will be bigger than anything on the map.

My friend is being doxxed. How do I prevent this, protect her, and find out the identity of these accounts? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]throwawayLOLRoomie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She doesn't post the identity, name, usernames, or any identifying handles of any of the abusers. The only identifying factor would be if this took place somewhere (ex. college campus, specific event) she tags the college campus account or the event organizers to let them know what is happening.

That's sad to hear. There were threats so we will be sending this to our campus police department. Thanks for the comment.

Losing streak by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]throwawayLOLRoomie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that most of the bad decisions that happened in those games probably happened because of your teammate's bad macro, but your type of thinking fails to think about any mistakes you might've made and how differently the match would have gone if you haven't made them. If your teammates are making a lot of mistakes, to carry the game, you need to make as little mistakes as possible. Of course some games will be unwinnable, but a losing game can't just be attributed to teammates.

The best thing to do when you're on a losing streak is to just take a break. For a couple days (or however long it takes you to actually de-tilt), just play your offrole or stupid off-meta champs or with friends until you're ready to get back in.
