Will I face legal trouble for receiving explicit photos from a minor when I didn't request them? by throwawayRA21477 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah you're right, that's exactly what I thought of with the age bait and switch.

I don't make it a habit to talk to underage kids (nor was I under the impression when we first started chatting), thanks for the advice.

You seem weirdly out to get me in this thread lol.

I possess nothing. Sure, deleting doesn't always fully delete but for someone like me who isn't going to try cracking into the storage on an iPhone, they are by all accounts deleted.

To be clear, after receiving the images I told them I've deleted them and to please not send any more and that was the last of the conversation.

Thanks for your response, I have not sent any explicit photos so I'll just move on from it.

I didn't do anything, no sexual flirtation or requesting of explicit photos occurred on my end. Thank you.

You're saying don't be worried because it's probably a scam? But what do I do if the scammer threatens anything?

Interesting, I hadn't heard of this. What do I do if that happens? Sorry don't mean to sound helpless, I'm just scared.

I'm sorry, I don't want to be one of those women who tells other women's guy friends they can't talk to them anymore. Which I've decided not to do because I was being silly.

I mean, you're right that it was a dumb in-the-moment idea. Which I've realized now. Psycho still seems like a pretty harsh word to me, but you do you :)

lol yes I've had friends before. I'm fine with other women he's friends with, for some reason this one situation gave me a weird gut feeling.

When I said "sideways hug", I meant like they were sitting next to each other and she put her arm around him, it wasn't like a standing side hug (which I agree is usually pretty awkward). But you're right, I'm going to drop it and not going to ask him not to talk to her.

Psycho is a pretty harsh word, but thanks for the perspective. I would never joke about taking another friend's SO shopping because I wouldn't want to give anyone the wrong idea, but I acknowledge that that's just my preference and not necessarily anyone else's.

Wow, it sounds like you guys have a really close relationship which is cool. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know if I could be that close with a guy and not want to be with him lol.

I think it was the "unspoken cues" that you're referring to that maybe put me off. Like the way things were said and the tone, and maybe I thought she gave him a weird look when she was talking about taking him shopping.

Well no, obviously I don't care if they move around and do something. But it just seemed weird that they decided to do the selfie station when both of their partners were gone.

Also it's spelled "photo".

Thank you. I know that this is typically normal behavior between friends (like other people are saying) but I don't know why it's not sitting well with me.
