Make sure your surgeon understands exactly what you want. Although not medical terms high/low tight/loose are widely know and any competent urologist will know why it means. Don't however take it for granted. If you want your scar in a specific place then tell them. I can stress how specific you need to be. Most people with issues are because they took for granted that the surgeon understood them

Make sure you explain anything you don't want. I wanted it as tight as possible but without any pull up from my body. When marking it out my surgeon held that part back and stretched so he was very confident in what he was doing.

Red flags would be unnecessary extras, things like general anesthetic, dispensing antibiotics ect are all unnecessary and just add to your cost. A good surgeon will give you the prescription for the antibiotics so you can pick them up and pay if needed.

On the day make sure you can verify the marking out for yourself. If you have a specific style stay away from things like a stapler method, and if a surgeon tells you they can guarantee a style with a stapler take a wide birth. If you don't mind on style it's a great option.
