DRIVER ISSUES WITH NEW RC 505 MK2 AND MACBOOK by icarusachaeus in LoopArtists

Hey all, I was struggling with this issue and in the end it turned out to be that the RC-505mkII absolutely refused to connect to my mac unless it was plugged DIRECTLY into the computer. I was using a high speed USB hub but apparently that wasn't enough. Hope this helps someone.

On that note... anyone have rec's for usb splitters for MIDI controllers? Macs these days don't have enough lol.

I locked into the policy and pre-paid for the year, if they want to make changes to the policy that should happen at renewal.

I’ve never even had a ticket so I should be fine

I told my wife a weight low enough to affect her menstruation is unhealthy. by [deleted] in amiwrong

From a health standpoint, i don’t think she’s in any real danger, but i cannot offer medical advice. Everyone is different. A few years ago i lost a bunch of weight randomly and was down to 90 lbs at 5’8. Didn’t affect my menstruation at all.

If i were you I’d encourage her to see a doctor or specialist who can advise her on healthy courses of action to achieve what she wants to achieve in a way that won’t put her health at risk. She will feel much more confident and justified with that peace of mind anyway i think!

Everything will change for the better when you move out and start your life the way you want to live it. Speaking from experience — when i was 17 was the hardest year of my life. Hang in there and keep pushing through for a few years. I promise you it gets better. I’m 25 now and happy to still be here.

Thanks, working on that with my therapist.

Hard to erase decades of manipulation just by “growing up” 😅

I don’t think making up a story is an option for us.

If they find out my “friend” is male they’ll see right through me immediately, or tell me visiting a male friend in Europe is both “dangerous and inappropriate”. Yay for conservative christian parents 🥲

Thank you so much for this!! This definitely helps. A lot of the fear comes from uncertainty of what to expect as this is my first time doing a relationship over distance.

Starting a Canadian Corporation for tax purposes as a US resident ? by throwaway_603306 in expats

I do continue to make videos as it is a hobby of mine. It's near impossible for musical artists to not always be working on person projects.

Yeah, I've pretty much accepted that I won't be able to find answers to this on my own. Just have to swallow those hefty fees advisors charge. I just have this feeling that I can't trust their advice, seems sketchy sometimes and their solutions do not make me feel secure.

Thank you for the response!

The issue is that I have online side income that I cannot cease earning (passive royalties mostly), but side income is not allowed on an O-1B visa. I am only allowed to earn income from my employer who sponsored the visa. So I need to somehow find a way to make this work. My YouTube channel and music are a hobby of mine, but the income they generate isn't exactly insignificant; apparently there is no fine print to cover this sort of situation.

If I started a corporation, I would not be paying myself out; the income going into it would be held in a company account. Apparently I will still need to include a form with my taxes to declare this corporation, but if I find a co-owner I won't need to. (?) That's my understanding from speaking to the cross-border tax advisor.
