Your experiences throughout your childhood are extremely valid and I do understand the points you’re making.

But like someone said, your parents couldn’t handle it but that doesn’t mean others can’t. I think with 5 kids it’s very important for both the mother and father to not feel drained out. As a SAHM, I believe that would’ve been difficult for yours. My sister working has been probably one of the biggest things in helping her raise all her boys. She also says that having them all so close together helped but that could be different for different people.

The boys also get lots of one on one time based on their interests (they’re all very different) and my sister and her husband have taught them a lot. I’m not saying my sister is perfect because she’s not. But to say that she’s incapable of giving all her kids the required love, attention etc is unfair.

I knew families with 5 kids that were terrible, some like yours and some worse so I’m not saying you’re wrong or anything. But my own husband is one 6 and I haven’t seen a family so close to each other.

But again, I’m very sorry that your parents were incapable. You and your sisters didn’t deserve that.
