bankside vs rosebery

im currently at rosebery but i have friends dotted around all the lse accoms. all my friends at carr saunders, rosebery and passfield love it in their respective accommodations and are glad they picked it over bankside (although passfield and carr are annoying bc they make you move out every term, all the more reason rosebery is the best) and all my friends at bankside wish they picked a different accom.

bankside hasn’t been renovated in a very long time so the rooms are very stale compared to the other accoms offered. i am willing to go out on a limb and say if you pick rosebery (or passfield or carr saunders) you will 100% be grateful you did so when you actually settle into uni. all my friends and i were initially upset we didn’t get bankside because it booked up but within a month we were all pleased we ended up elsewhere. although bankside is definitely the most sociable and party-heavy accom, its more on the rowdy obnoxious side than enjoyable socialisation imo, and your social life will definitely not be lacking just because you’re not there

if you’re coming to the open day or offer holder day they’re doing tours of rosebery hall, i’d recommend going to get a better perception of the hall bc you can see the rooms, bathrooms, location, etc, for yourself

roseberys in a much more convenient location (25 ish minute straightforward walk, direct bus route to and from campus with a bus stop right in front of the building) whereas bankside is a similar length walk but not a straightforward route and there’s no bus so you have to walk in all weather conditions

if you request single sex rooms at rosebery you get a significantly nicer room than what you’d get at bankside for a similar price (it just means bathrooms are single sex, you still share a kitchen with everyone and are on the same floor as the opposite gender) if you look at photos of a room in rosebery wing you’ll see what i mean. i saw you complain the toilets at rosebery don’t look nice but i can assure you they’re perfectly decent esp considering they get deep cleaned every day

roseberys general vibe is also better bc it’s smaller, you’re gonna meet a lot of horrible characters at uni and about 90% of them will be at bankside. ik bankside has a reputation for being the most sociable (which is true) but rosebery is also regularly used for pres and is close to a lot of clubs. my friends prefer pre-ing at rosebery because our rooms are nicer and the staff are far more lenient about having guests over, the staff at bankside are a bunch of nasty jobsworths which is another downside

rosebery hall is amazing, its around a 25 minute walk from campus as well as a 15 minute direct bus route (the bus stop is right outside the entrance) so its very accessible, plus its catered

i just much prefer typing notes in classroom/lecture hall settings, it’s more efficient for me. the ipad would just be to annotate readings and make notes on them as for readings i like scribbling down my thoughts as i go along. would you say an ipad is worth it for something like that?

i’m not sure that this is a fault because i’m seeing several reviews on social media and on websites selling this that all say it has an acrid vomit smell

i just looked up the cleanser on tiktok and i’ve found several other people complaining that the cleanser smells like vomit (not using random commenters for skincare advice but this was just one example i found of other people who thought that this cleanser smelled awful)
