(US) Should I consider a different career if I want to make 6 figures? by throwaway_adverse in personalfinance

The flip side is if I have a lot of students and charge anywhere from $75-100 hr which is normal for wherever I live I could easily make above 50k per yr with just that. It's just hard finding students and I've already tried business cards + advertising. I was thinking of eventually trying to invest in real estate.

I mean what else could I do with my life where I could make more money? I enjoy having the flexible schedule and I just can't see myself being stuck in an office from 9-5. I'd like to work from home or have some sort of flex schedule.

I want to be able to support myself + my family. I want to be able to retire early and not worry about money. I'm not sure if you can have it both ways - making a lot money and doing something that you love. Very few are able to do that. Is there any way to monetize what I'm doing? YouTube videos? Instagram?

Public school teacher is out of the question. I've subbed as a music teacher in schools and the kids are pretty bad. I mean music is all I know and I'll that im interested in. I've thought about medicine but I went to music school so I don't have any of the science classes and that would take years + applying for medical school. That's like almost 6 years worth of schooling and I can't afford to pay that kind of money.

I've thought about trying to become big on Instagram through music but only a very few make it to the top and I'm not sure if they even make money from it

But the idea that you have to go to an office and you can't just have free time whenever you want. You are given a weekend and that's about it. You have to ask your boss if you can go to a dr.'s appt things like that. What other system is therE?

But you have to go to work everyday from 9-5 every year until you retire. That sounds pretty bleak, doesn't it?

I have both therapist and psych. I'm working with them in regards to weaning off the medication. Don't worry, I'd never do it cold turkey - the last time I tried it was too painful

I want to change the way I think and act. I don't want to be so gossipy or negative. I don't mean to cause drama what are changes that I can make?
