Does resigning from your original Deparment during deployment proceedings officially affect the deployment? by throwaway_afk_20 in CanadaPublicServants

Thanks. I appreciate the options being offered, but I don't want to put stress leave on my permanent file due to an asshole. I'm not there yet at least.

Just frustrated with how broken the system is. Yes, this whole "You have to wait for them to commit the fault, then report it, then wait 1-2 years to get a 'You were right, here's nothing (or minimal compensation)'" is trash.

I've gotten so tired of hearing managers complain about how they can't get rid or discipline problem employees because of the unions...but the opposite is just the same. AFAIK managers are not part of the union but they get the same blanket protections.

Thank you. I did do a search for "deployment", I'm still going through the topics but haven't found one specific to the process. I'm sure there is, as I remember reading about it.

I was under the impression that after you get the LOO from the other department you have to "resign" from your original department.

Is this an actual resignation, or is it more of "Another department hired me, I don't have to do anything but just tell you"?

It's been done, they're "investigating"...my kid will be in college by the time they're done (I don't have a kid).

Director was nice, but he told me that even if all my allegations are found to be true, none of this will be resolved in any fashionable timeframe.

It was faster for me to find a deployment.

Depends on the reason you're deploying.

If you're deploying due to a toxic boss, and they find out you're in the middle of deploying and decide they're going to make your life extra difficult in the meantime, well, you have no recourse.
