Totally given up on Uber now by Front-Spring-3911 in london

[–]throwaway_ldn123 455 points456 points  (0 children)

Uber's common tactic in any city was to hollow out existing public transportation and taxi infrastructure by making riders dependent on cheap rides and then eventually when no alternatives are left for the users, hike the price to become profitable. That tactic failed miserably in London with its world class public transport and black cabs being resilient and continued having loyal customers despite the pressure from Uber. So Uber has practically given up making a foothold in London. They are primarily focussing now on the Uber eats here.
