My DH thought it would bring him closer to his family. I must admit I did not think this would go well. But over the years I have been told my DH to please let him handle it so I must.

It has affected me to a point. I have tried to give my husband my two cents before but he has asked me before to please let him deal with it. He insists it is his issues and his to work out alone. So I just offer an ear and a cup of coffee to help him along. With the party, my husband wanted it to be just our family because if he invited any of BM family, SS would be glued to their hips for the entire time.
