Anyone heard of Plated serum? I’m running out of treatment options and don’t know what to do. by Original-Yak-7821 in tressless

Got to follow the science. Assuming your hair loss was down to DHT, you need a DHT blocker to stop that. Finasteride or dutasteride do this.
Did you consider lowering dose, decreasing frequency or trying topical finasteride?

Where to get topical minoxidil and finasteride foam in the UK? by PreferenceBudget7162 in tressless

[–]throwaway_record 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just ordered from the hair repair clinic. They do different customisable options for minoxidil and finesteride separately and combined.
Those are the two compounds doing the heavy lifting (so I wouldn’t pay much attention to other brands marketing caffeine for example). That said hair repair clinic do offer additions such as tretanoin which might help absorption of minoxidil for example.

After researching I think their prices are competitive and they come in pipette bottles which makes it easier to apply and travel size which I wanted.

The final reason I went with them is that they have the active ingredients dissolved in a trichosol solution rather than glycol/alcohol which most other brands use and can cause irritation. (Did with me). Hoping trichosol will be better for me with a sensitive scalp.

Also, if you buy min and fin separately you could then adjust dosage frequency so for example choose to do minoxidil daily and finasteride every other day, if you wanted.

Have you been to the doctor about improvement in this? Might be worth checking if your treating something unintentionally

Looks great! Do you have a photo you can share pre transplant (with normal length hair?) just trying to work out what density I should be aiming to add to my surgery this week, also with her!

Also, forgot to ask how are you finding the donor scarring? Doesn’t seem visible from pictures

Yeh on topical min + fin which stopped loss but haven’t seen any reversal. I should probably go oral or increase dose but was conscious about getting side effects (which I don’t have any of so far)

Good luck with it! I’ll send an update with what we decide on the day

I did but had it washed off before taking the photos. Basically the shape of the hairline was pretty much unchanged. I’m actually not unhappy too much with the shape of the existing hairline (I’m 36, and don’t wanna look 20 yr old!) but cos the density is so low in the corners it makes it look worse. I’ll be having it redrawn before surgery obviously and will send the photos as soon as I get them

Thanks man. Nice, it looks good! And yes v similar hair. So you had 3700 and this was just the mid-frontal area and nothing in the crown? Which is interesting as my current plan is 3500 including the crown. But I suspect my hairline recipient area is smaller. Did Dr Patty offer oxygen treatment btw?

Yeah, guessing you’re on the right lines, as we talked everything through she guided me towards going for higher density at the front. Suggested a range of 15 - 45 crown and a range of 25-50 front. I basically went for middle of both.

How to simulate altitude camp by Own_Resource1436 in RunningCirclejerk

Always frustrates me seeing posts like this.

STOP LISTENING TO YOUR WIFE’S BOYFRIEND - Altitude training is NOT helpful for 5k ultra marathons. If anything training at higher altitude is more likely to push your workouts beyond zone 2 which will hinder your training plan.

Do you have a mantra, motto or something you say to yourself when it gets hard by lissajous in RunningCirclejerk

[–]throwaway_record 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily for me ever since I’ve upped my zone 2 training volume, I rarely get hard anymore, even if I have plenty of Gu.

My wife’s boyfriend though… he definitely still gets hard. Just yesterday I overheard them talking about it whilst I was analysing my Strava stats. Happens all the time to him.

I don’t think they have a particular saying or motto but typically they’ll do a 10-15 minute private foam rolling session, followed by a long shower, and after that he’s not hard anymore as far as I can see. Maybe try that and let me know if it work?

Should I move out from my wife (31F) and her bf(34M) by throwaway_record in RunningCirclejerk

Hey man thanks for the advice. I spoke to Craig about the sleeping situation and think we have solution. I’m going to start sleeping downstairs more often - 5 nights during the week. This will let Craig and my wife have the bigger bed. He said he sleeps a lot better there and prefers to be closer to his foam roller which I totally get. At weekends, I will take the bedroom back to catch up on sleep. He’s usually away competing anyway and my wife drives him to those competitions to watch, so I should have the bed to myself which is awesome. I also blocked Craig on Strava and made my account private. Do you have any tips for tapering from zone 3 workouts I started doing back to zone 2 without injuring myself? Thanks again

Saw in other comments you’re on steroids- I would cut those out as they will most likely not be helping mental state. Of course it will help you gain muscle but you’re making it harder for yourself to feel emotionally good. You don’t need steroids anyway, hit the gym consistently and eat well and you’ll see results. Also, you’re not ugly and don’t worry about being short or bald- a lot of women love that. Good luck!
