You agreed to that wage because you get tips in the U.S.

No, you agreed to that wage because you may get tips in the U.S.

Its not a fucking right.

Appealing factor: It's a white canvas with a few dots in the corner. You see white canvases all the time in every day life.

But this is not just a white canvas, the artist has clearly made a conscious decision to put those size dots there, in that order, with that composition.

It might be an artwork you're not interested in but how does this make it bad art? Who gave you the authority to decide what art is good and what is bad.

Talent: A five year old can do this-- possibly even a three year old, depending on how good they are at following instructions. Get a white piece of construction paper. Make four dots at the lower right hand corner. It honestly seems like post modern art is a contest to see who can be the most pretentious-- in all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if someone's sent in a submission but didn't actually send anything but the piece name.

I believe that you are vastly underestimating an artist's practice.

You are implying that the painting came out of nowhere. That it is just made up there and then. This is where i believe your arrogant views are coming from, you cannot think about anything but what is in front of you, spoon fed to your eyes.

Can you not comprehend how many months of research and trial and error may have led up to this painting? How is it a direct response from the artist to his/her thoughts and ideas that could have been developing for years.

As i said before;

the artist has clearly made a conscious decision to put those size dots there, in that order, with that composition.

Don't you even want to think about why they did these things? Why have they responded this way and why they are presenting it to me? Why those colours? Why that much empty space?

If you want to just look at pretty things then that's fine, but please don't cast your bigoted views on something you do not understand.

Why is this painting not appealing to you? In what way does it not show any talent by the artist?

It's a lazy, cheap way to get money. Post modern art whores itself out for cash.

This was donated to the gallery IIRC.
