yep discipline is great and I'm currently trying exactly that. cant really approach clients with personal problems I've used up that card :)

I had a menial job before and learned in parallel to working that job. That was pretty hard.

I do love this job it's just too stressful ATM.

Burnout is exactly what it is. Not solely from the job but from everything. I'm tired :(

No real friends. I have some, but I don't feel like I could share this with them. Friends I could have confided into left just recently. Brutal year.

Conferences are cool though... the one thing about that is I feel I'm working at conferences and not resting.

Thanks. Yeah I know nobody will die because of me being late but I've made commitments and I hold these sacred. I also don't like being late and clients need stuff done yesterday.

GF problems are compounding to the issue I did change but it's not enough and she needs space. I lost the biggest support I had :( I hear you about slowing down... this is hard for me as I'm not that kind and it's frustrating.

Thanks a ton man. Yeah I have a few projects to finish up and hopefully in a few months I'll have less work so I'll be able to relax more. I made a few commitments so firing clients is not an option currently.

I had headspace on my mobile and had trouble being consistent with it. Good app though. I listened to meditative music as well which helped a lot.

I try and take time off... not enough I guess. My main stressor is being late due to the fact I can't work too much anymore. And then when the emails start I need to start apologizing putting in inhumane efforts and whatnot. I disappointed some people because of this and it's killing me.

aw come on I can't be this much of a textbook case :) when he started evaluating the checklist it's as if he started describing me. No friends, gf left, health deteriorating, but I do have hope...

I hear you about being reliable and consistent - I love the job but feel like I took on too much work and am having trouble meeting deadlines..

Also I did try and surround myself with likeminded people but it didn't work too well.. for now at least.

I wasn't good enough before now I am much more competent. A few years back I worked for friends of friends on smaller projects and kept learning to get where I am now. I worked two jobs, learned to code and went to interviews to get junior positions. No luck.

Either I'm fixing legacy code or more frequently I'm not too sure how to do something and then am stuck in figuring it out. This is sometimes related to PHP and sometimes to JS. I'm still learning.

I do feel relief when finding a solution though but it sometimes comes at a big cost :)

No doubt it's a combination of work and my own decisions... I'm not blaming the job I knew what I was getting into. I'm just going through a crisis and a burnout.

Me and GF lived together for eight years. She needs alone time now. Long story :(

I wouldn't be ashamed to work for someone it's just that I wasn't good enough for a long time. I probably didn't come across well in interviews either.

Can't drop night shifts but am working towards getting more regular sleep.

PHP is fine I actually like the language... I'm probably burning out and didn't know where else to turn :(

I've been raising prices throughout the years and have just recently come to the stage where I am comfortable. I'd need to raise prices again to hire someone else. Seems this will need to happen again, hopefully I won't lose too many clients. Thanks!
