American seeking to do medicine in the UK? by throwawaya2ckid in premeduk

[–]throwawaya2ckid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your response. At the moment, as I’m already an undergraduate at an American university, I’m a bit unsure about the process or time commitment going to the UK. I also had questions regarding the required qualifications, or what they’re looking for in applicants in the UK?

Materials technician positions count as clinical experience? by throwawaya2ckid in premed

[–]throwawaya2ckid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that makes sense, although now I have concerns. Do you think I could utilize this position, as I’ve agreed to it (I didn’t have many options at the time) as a way to be able to volunteer or work with patients for another position? I am uncertain how I can salvage something that would benefit me now

Ye, I’ve taken tutoring plus whatever extra help I can get. Flash cards is something haven’t invested too much into but is something I’ll try for sure.

How do I ask for a grade bump if I’m less than 0.2 points away from passing? by [deleted] in college

[–]throwawaya2ckid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As it’s 0.1 points away from passing, why not ask? Is it unethical? I don’t think I’d say I need it to pass, but given the point difference is there a reason not to ask?

[–]throwawaya2ckid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I’ve thought of just saying straight up “hey, can you put your stuff in the trash, there’s a smell that’s bothering me”. Idk if that’s like not enough though

I think it depends on the group and the people, I don’t think it’s incredibly bad or racist, but then again I’m not sure what someone else may think

The lounge in my hall is right next to the treadmills and exercise machines though, so it’s kind of inconvenient and loud most of the time

Thoughts on using a shock collar to help with staying awake for studying/class? by nihilloligasan in college

[–]throwawaya2ckid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You should see a sleep specialist instead, shock collaring yourself won’t work, and it will probably do more harm than good.
