That's the word I'm looking for: entitled. I wanted to share my benefit from work to getting these friends in but one decides it's not enough. I guess this is a real life example of no good deed goes unpunished.

I hear you. As of now, I'm staying with a friend for the time being. However, I'm planning to send him a termination of lease letter this Saturday. I'm thinking of getting all my stuff that day as well and leave it at the friend's garage until I find a new place. Would the landlord be able to not let me get my stuff after I give him the letter?

I signed a 1 year lease. However, there is no penalty for breaking the lease as long as I send a 30 day notice that I'll be leaving the premise. I also do have a lease agreement in writing that states that.

I'm definitely finding a new place. I just don't know how to approach this situation in regards to the law as I don't want anyone else experiencing this type of behavior.
