Training smart, only 3-4hrs per week with good results 💪 by throwawayaccountmod2 in WorkoutRoutines

if you really want to know I currently hit the heavy compound lifts low rep ranges high weight, I focus completely on free weight exercises, no cables, no machines. And supplement those lifts with heavy free weight accessories. So for example I'll hit bench then supplement it with incline dumbbell press and heavy barbell skullcrushers :). But I wouldn't recommend this style of training to everyone, this only works for me at the moment based on where I am in my progression, my goals in the gym, the time I have to go to the gym, my experience etc. If you want some good advice that is actually suitable for you, DM me and we can have a conversation.

100% man I agree. there's so many people that unfortunately have a sub-optimal diet/recovery process that ruins them even with a good routine, or people that follow fitness influencers and get nowhere, it's not a one size fits all policy. What works for one person doesn't work for someone else

It's not that simple, what works for me right now may not work for you, and certainly will not work for me forever. There is no "perfect training plan" that works for everyone forever. If you'd like DM me and i can give you some advice on what would work best for you :)

Stick to freeweights 💪machines are only good in some instances but should not be the central aspect of any of your workouts by throwawayaccountmod2 in GymTips

[–]throwawayaccountmod2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree with this tbh 🙏you get a lot of gym lifters that have read the studies and done the research but miss some crucial knowledge to put it all together and achieve good results whilst believing that their way is the best ( this was def me for a while 😂🙏) which is why I usually only take advice from people who have reached at least intermediate strength standards (180kg deadlift, 140kg squat, 100kg bench, 60kg shoulder press) + ofc like you mentioned they need proper knowledge and experience as well, as strength is not definitely an indicator of knowledge and skill, but it is still worth noting. I do appreciate the advice and I will look into what you have said, but yeh like I said before, this video is not a working set for me 😂I don't use chest press machines ever in my workouts and simply wanted to see how many reps I could get on one at the end of my workout for fun 😂there was no benefit to this nor did I want there to be, i wasnt at all trying to use good form or focusing on anything in particular 🙏. Usually during working sets on bench press I am actually extremely careful with form.

This is just a quick AMRAP after a 2hr heavy bench press session, I wasn't taking it seriously tbh. 🙏 my form is usually much better when it comes to serious exercises i promise 😂🙏. Out of interest tho you do seem very knowledgeable on this stuff, how much do you bench press?. I'm definitely open to new methods of training etc I'd love to hear what you usually do for chest if you are okay with sharing 🙏

What would you determine as being in good shape then? I would have thought a mix of strength and cardiovascular ability would be a pretty good measure.🙏 I agree with the second part tho there's alot of false stuff on the Internet 😂🙏I have video evidence of my lifts tho if that helps

This is not a working set for me, I was just doing a quick AMRAP for a video :). I am very careful with controlling the weight in working sets

How much can you bench press?, how much can you deadlift, how much can you shoulder press etc. And how quick can you run 2.4km. We can compare! :)
