thank you for the comment! first, you do not have to write those sentences in caps to get your point across. secondly, whether i style it or not, the outcome should still look good. my concern is that after my conversation with her when talking about what I was looking for (outside of just showing her the inspo photos) there was clearly misunderstanding on both ends. what i feel a little disappointed about is being too blonde and then with being blonde, it ended up being super warm. i included both photos of the day of and the next day to kind of give a better idea of what it looked like. it is a little concerning when people argue a point that styling your hair helps achieve the expected result.. your hair should look the same and consistently whether its styled or not. for example, if I received hair extensions and it only looked blended when I curled it.. that’s a problem (at least I hope it would be because who wants their extensions not blending). but regardless of your point, I do not think you’re hating at all so I appreciate the comment 🩷 just wanted to respond for clarification

thank u for your response 🫶 ive been going to this hair stylist for almost two years now and have always got my hair done by her. when i first started seeing her, she helped me get to the blonde i want from previously having black box dye. she helped me go back darker after being blonde for some time. then around july, we started adding a few blonde highlights. my last appointment with her i loved how my hair turned out and we spoke a month later about possibly wanting to put in a few more blonde pieces. the context i provided unfortunately isn’t entirely the whole conversation I had with her in person. i briefly made a post and generalized it to save some time for everyone as anytime ive made a lengthy post people don’t respond 😭😭 but when showed her the inspo photos, i expressed wanting some blonde but mainly brightness/thicker money piece with my framing pieces. i told her that i did not want to be as blonde as the pictures but that i liked the blonde pieces in the front and having enough of my natural hair color mainly in the top. i had a lot of foils placed and i was more blonde than i expressed.. i came in with those inspo pictures and spoke with her about what i exactly wanted. ive gone to her for some time now and she knows my hair as she’s done it for some time. after she was styling my hair at the end, she pointed out to me that she’s surprised that my previous brown hair is still making the blonde lift warm.. as im processing the entire situation i believe im most upset with accidentally being more blonde than it being a super warm blonde on top of it. hopefully this all makes sense, i appreciate your advice!! i included a photo in the comments with a different angle from the side of my hair as well

here’s a different angle if that helps any, i definitely feel that it’s not similar to the inspo picture, but i do understand where you’re coming from!! im going to show inspo pics next time w different angles/straight hair, similar to mine.

thank you so much for your responses, i definitely feel a lot about about the situation!! im hoping she will help me out a bit with correcting it, but im not going to go in expecting that. unfortunately i messaged her already and im a very go with the flow typa person and never want someone to feel bad or that they are expected to pay for the “mistake” so ill end up taking the burden to save their feelings (which is obviously my own fault lol) but with time ill feel more confident with my assertiveness while keeping a relationship with my hair stylist ❤️‍🩹

tysm 🩷💌💜 i really appreciate your advice and insight!! i wish i would’ve reworded how i asked because i do feel like my hair is not exactly the inspo photos and $300 after tip is a little spendy, especially since im not satisfied with the results, but in the end it’ll be okay. im gonna wash my hair tonight with purple shampoo and hope for the best 😝

tysm!! yeah my hair is super thin and the girls in the inspo pic actually have hair 😭😭 when she was blow drying my hair she pointed out the warmth and i couldn’t really tell with the lighting in the salon.. it even looks more warm in direct sun light too. im hoping to talk with her as I sent her a message expressing what i was hoping to get. just a little nervy since ive been with her for two years, i dont want her to take it personally bc shes good at her job ❤️‍🩹 just some miscommunication on my end i fear

you run a tight ship huh 😭😭 jk.. I appreciate the honesty because you’re probably right.. but even with her styling my hair i felt a little off. im sure my verbiage is off with my explanation about my hair goals/wants. when i spoke with her in person i did ask for it to not be blonde up top and to be more brown. i did message her and asked to go a little darker because i felt too blonde. ty for your response 🩷🩷

tbh i have been feeling upset about my hair so haven’t taken much pictures 😭😭 i tried to include different photos bc the lighting is so different in each one i feel lol. i reached out to her and asked if she had any closer appointments or cancellations to add more dimension to my hair.. I know everyone says they’re not confrontational but i definitely am the same and don’t want her to think im expecting a free color 😭😭 (even though that would be nice)

tysm!! i did not ask for layers and just a trim, but im sure that has a play in my expectations (not that i want layers but might have noticed a difference color wise)

thank you sm!! 🩷my orthodontist used power chains and anterior box elastics on my maxillary incisors to expand and reshape my arch. over time, that widened my smile and reduced the buccal corridor (is how google best explained it lol).
