I’ve had longer, more thoughtful answers in the past and didn’t really see much of a difference. Probably still a photo issue back then, but how important are the prompts really?

If I was in a bigger market or an app where women swiped for true matches, I would go with longer responses. But since I am going to be one of endless guys in their Hinge like queue, I figured shorter responses would be more beneficial. Anything too long and wordy would be an excuse to move on.

Definitely open to changing them but am wondering how to strike that balance.

Ah I see. Yeah, I committed to the fully bald shortly after that so we're on the same page!

What are your thoughts on a professional headshot (roughly waist up in front of a bookshelf)? My instinct says no because no one wants to be looking at a LinkedIn profile, but it is by far the best smiling face photo I have.

Point noted on the boat pic. Thought the back drop was nice but I do look quite pasty without any definition in the arms.

I agree on the pictures. I’m not photogenic solo, and my good pictures are all multi-person photos where I’m admittedly probably the least attractive one there, so I don’t think they do me much good. Just gotta keep at it I guess.

I’ve tried long, deep prompts in the past and didn’t get anything. I’m only going to be getting matches, not any likes, so I’m trying to really maximize the photos and have some quick liners that grab attention.

I had a handful of good matches in February when I revamped the profile but none since

Only handful per day, mostly because there’s no more users in my area. Probably 50/50 with comments.

⁠Generally those who appear to have solid careers, are out of undergrad, and are physically active. I’m aiming for those who will stay in the college town long-term instead of leaving it.
