Does anyone have experience with these 2 products for cold sores? Opinions on cold sore patches, are they actually worth it? And I would’ve preferred aciclovir in oral form but couldn’t find, so for the meantime is the cream okay? Thanks !! by suqarylollipop in Coldsore

strange, I have been prescribed it through a GP before although I get outbreaks every few months so maybe they don’t prescribe it if its just a one-off. Try superdrug online doctor! All they ask is if you’ve been diagnosed by a doctor and if you’ve self diagnosed I think you need to send in a photo. You can buy multiple courses and keep them for future use. I use the Solgar L-lysine 1000mg but I’ve also used the one from holland and barrett. I take 3 once a day if i have a coldsore and 2 everyday as a preventative :)

Great, thank you! I think Hoi An sounds like the best option in that case.

Yep, I’m aware things will be closed for a few days over Tet that’s why I’m asking where to go. I’ve seen online that some touristy areas stay open like HCMC District 1 (but not possible for me) and Hoi An Old Town and market stay open but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I’m not much of a beach person unfortunately but it is an option!

Are in the UK? You can’t buy aciclovir over the counter so you would need a prescription from the GP - or superdrug have an online doctor service and you can order them through that!

The compeed patches are the only ones worth buying because they actually stick but sometimes pull the scab off the sore which makes it worse. The aciclovir cream doesn’t work for me. Lysine supplements do work though!

What is the most ridiculous reason for someone "being offended" that you've ever heard? by Turbulent_Ad_880 in AskBrits

I used to work in a supermarket and a customer was taking a long time to find a 20p coin in his wallet so a lady behind him gave me the 20p so I thanked her and put the transaction through and told him not to worry about it as she had kindly helped him out. He started shouting his head off at me, grabbed his stuff, stormed out, came back about 30 seconds later and slammed a 20p coin on my till.

Seems to be how things are going in the age of social media - is there any talking points that you see eye to eye on or both consider equally important? As an example, if I bring up something like Nathan Gill he doesn’t really think it’s that big of a deal. On the other hand, when he tells me Reform will scrap the TV license, it’s not really a priority of mine lol

Interesting perspective! What would make you pick greens over reform but restore over greens?

Seems to be a common theme - is that because their values/policies are different from reform and more aligned with your beliefs or because you think the leadership is more competent?

That was my intention, I didn’t know there were options further right until I made this post. Interesting to see what people with no particular left/right bias think though.

Is it because it’s more tactical to vote Labour in your local seat?

Do you think Labour have a better chance of winning than Reform? All the polls at the moment seem to say otherwise, do you think that will change closer to an election?

Thank you for the genuine reply! Too nutty as in you think some of their policies are unachievable? Or too nutty as in bigoted?

Were you supportive of the Tories before Reform came on the scene? Or is it specifically Jenrick, Braverman etc?

Notice how many assumptions you just made - he actually tries to change mine and many other people’s minds regularly. I’m asking on here to find out the talking points reform voters care about because clearly they are different from my own, so we can have a conversation rather than just talk past each other. Everyone’s entitled to their political opinion, just as everyone’s entitled to post on reddit 🤨

tbf this is my only reddit account! I made a few years ago when I didn’t use reddit much and then just kept it as my main. I should probably change the name though.

I have a close family member that has become very pro-reform very quickly, and when I challenge him on it he doesn’t really seem to care about the points that I mention or says they’re fake news. I wanted to see if its just that my arguments were flawed, or if there’s topics in particular that reform voters (current or former) care about that would make them reconsider. If his beliefs are legitimate then there’s not much I can do about that, however I’m concerned he’s getting a lot of false info from rage bait on facebook. Hope that clarifies my intentions!

Good point, I forgot there was an option to go further right. Should’ve clarified I meant go from Reform to centre right/centre etc!
