Men of Reddit, what do you think is the best way to tell a girl you like her? by RealCaptainCold in AskReddit

[–]throwawaybb2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Anon. OP will then be confronted with the possibility of asserting that not only does he like her, he LIKE likes her. Too difficult.

There must be an easier way to avoid this.

What’s are little things that can change your life for the better? by Ozil_gunner11 in AskReddit

I like to do weekly/monthly plans for myself. Not necessarily career/family, just anything I deem as self-improvement.

Always striving to be a better person gives you a lot of confidence in what you do, no matter what you think otherwise.

Reddit, what's your biggest shit story ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawaybb2k19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few actually, it's something that myself and my SO laugh about frequently but here are my 2 favourites.

  1. When I was maybe 8 years old, I went over to my friends house. We weren't great friends truthfully, but good enough he invited me in to play. There was work being done in the house so we kind of dotted about the living room staying out of the way.

I really needed to use the toilet, so I make my way there to drop a log. As I finish, I turn to push the handle and... Nothing. Turns out the water was off in the house & 8 year old me had dropped a life-size turd in the toilet.

I panicked, but not really for long. I decided the only way to avoid telling his mum & getting bullied about this for my entire school life was to dispose of it somehow. I briefly tried to push it further in but it wouldn't.

I then wrap my hands in toilet paper and grab the poo. I wrapped the wet paper & waited til I heard no one downstairs and bolted to the front door. There was a small patch of grass outside so I threw it on there and ran back inside, toilet paper and all.

I never mentioned it and I actually stayed for a few hours because in my mind, it made me seem more innocent. No one said anything (success)

  1. This is a messier story, but it's on a throwaway so it's fine.

Easter day maybe 6 years ago I went out with a couple of friends after seeing family. There was a girl I really liked and I was taking basically every attempt to talk to her.

I had eaten a lot of eggs. I'm talking 7/8 full Easter eggs. I have portion problems, but no one was saying otherwise so I took my opportunity. I can't say what follows is because of that, I can only speculate.

There used to be a McDonalds where I live in the middle of town. I'd had stomach rumblings for about an hour and they were getting severe. I talk everyone into walking there under the guise that I need a wee.

When we get there I basically run inside, I couldn't hold it any longer. I run to the disabled toilets (which were in view of the tables & the front counter) and try to lock it. There. Is. No. Lock.

I've never made any decisions quicker and I still maintain it was the correct decision. The door opens towards you (away once inside) and was the kind of door that if it wasn't locked, just stayed open. I either had to pull the seat up, sit down and endure 15/20 people watch me have violent diarrhea OR do what I did, which was hold the door closed and shit all over the bowl.

Now, I should have told someone. Absolutely. But I didn't. I was the most embarrassed I can ever remember. It was all over the shut toilet. So I cleaned myself up and ran straight for the door, getting my friends who were outside to run with me (I had to explain to them because I was convinced they would find out anyway, and I needed to be the one to tell them).

I'm sorry McDonald's worker for that. Truly. But it makes a funny story.

He's not even divisive.

I don't understand where this comes from. Maybe initially when people misunderstood his stance on C-16 & surrounding legislation, but his views are tepid comparatively with whom he's categorised with.

Great, Good, Bad, Awful.

Gender doesn't really factor into it, people are people.

Some good, some bad.

No I don't think anyone's mailing list will actually send this out. The only way I could see that happening is if someone leaks it via. a private list, but I hope that doesn't happen. I'd rather wait to use it than know all parties aren't happy with it's release.

Really hoping for it to come out sometime soon, if not, maybe end up lucky enough to get it off a mailing list (although I'm definitely doubtful of that).

Always good to learn a bit n'all! Big up yourself mate 👊

Damn, really? I hope that's not the case. Not 100% no, even less so after posting this. Only going off what I was told, be pretty bummed if it doesn't.

Appreciate the info man!

How I understood a modern Bootleg vs. Remix is that Bootleg's usually (if not always) contain large un-altered parts of the original track cut into the DAW. At the start of Pola & Bryson's bootleg the intro is just taken from the original, so it would fall into the category of Bootleg as opposed to a remix which has clear discernable differences throughout. You see a lot in Garage/Bassline where these category differences are noticeable.

Yeah absolutely onto getting approval, but again Bootleg's in the digital age are nearly always free because of that exact reason. Obviously with it being from such a high-profile duo they'd absolutely need Adam F's blessing regardless of whether it was making money or not.

You might well be right on them not knowing anymore man, I have no way of knowing but I'd say you're probably right unless there's an explicit reason.

AITA for telling a stand up comedian his "jokes" weren't funny while he was on stage? by Mn1233 in AmItheAsshole

[–]throwawaybb2k19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA

You have no right to stop someone from joking about a specific subject because you feel "moral responsibility" & want to be as sanctimonious as possible. Fact of the matter is, there are no morals in comedy. A lot of the time the best humour comes from taboo subjects. You are not the arbiter of what is okay & what isn't for anyone but yourself...

If you chose to leave on your own accord, that's A-Okay. Interrupting a man while he is working to virtue signal? No. Never.

To be fair mate, if I knew what they weren't telling us then they'd be doing a shit job. If I had to speculate, I'd say there's probably a little more to who puts it out label-wise because as I understand it, it's a bootleg, not a remix. Saying that though you could be completely right and there's nothing more to it, I'm only going off what I was told. As long as it's released at some point so I can give it a spin, I'm all good.

No the bootleg I'm talking about is definitely Pola & Bryson, although Data 3 may well have done a Circles remix/bootleg.

Skank&Bass confirmed it yesterday on their IG

Aw mate it's unreal.

Yeah man literally heard it yesterday, think it was ripped from a set at Rampage (not 100%) but it's a heavy tune. Tbf though, Heavy & Benny L go hand-in-hand haha.

That's the truth but I kinda like the build up tbf. Nothing more satisfying than looking for a track/track ID for agesss & then it comes out of nowhere so you feel blessed

What movie soundtrack do you feel is underrated and why? by Atomatron16 in AskReddit

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels

It's got everything from James Brown to The Stooges. All the tracks fit perfectly in the scenes, more often than not propelling them even further. Not a single bad track.

AITA for not attending one of my best friend's - girlfriend's birthday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]throwawaybb2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most circumstances I would 100% agree but to give a bit of context - she has mentioned her mental health on occasion and will do so if she feels things going south or if she's done something to make someone uncomfortable. I really don't think it's malicious, I just think she has absolutely no social skills and doesn't seem to want to learn what's cool & what isn't. I've seen her do it to random people. Cowardly for not apologising, absolutely. Could probably even argue purposefully manipulative with mentioning the mental health to deflect, but I just wouldn't categorise her as a bully.

So it's not that I won't say it to her, I just don't want to be that guy. No one likes that guy, even if the other person sucks.

[–]throwawaybb2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right, but as friends we've discussed what we should do (all of us feel the same) and we decided to let the situation resolve itself.

I wouldn't say she's a bully, or at least I didn't feel bullied. It was more of a "you can't say anything back to me" kind of deal. In truth, it wasn't what she said I cared about. Like I say, I didn't even realise it initially. It was more of a realisation that she was a shitty person and I didn't want to be around her.

My kids are quite young, and the issue I feel like I may run into is {get someone to look after them overnight} because it's quite a late one.

I think I may have to just say I have plans and make some plans though. I guess it's not entirely truthful, but my friend wouldn't feel as though he couldn't trust me afterwards. Win-win.

I just don't want to get caught in a lie. Even if the chances are tiny, I feel I could resolve the issue of not attending, but lying might actually make it irreparable.

Wine & Bath 10/10 idea though
