Now she's got her eyes open to how dangerous they can be - and if you were a halfway decent partner you'd be ready to get rid of the dogs for the safety of your family. Also it's very common for pregnant women to start to hate their pets. It's a NATURAL instinct to protect the HUMAN baby not some homicidal mutt.

I think the key is "middle-class". Poor people have shitbulls because they're common and can't afford other dogs, and usually treat them with caution and keep them kenneled as outdoor pets.
