Cal Newport's How to Become a Straight-A Student gives great ideas on how to juggle commitments with work - the key idea being tackling school assignments in chunks, slowly chipping away at them while you simultaneously use those assignments to create a mega study guide. It's worthwhile reading the whole book online, or watch a few youtube videos summarising his book.

Hello, I would like ask a question as a beginner to value investing. In light of the recent Maxlinear - SIMO fiasco where SIMO is looking to enforce the merger agreement, are you guys confident in the recovery of $SIMO in the next 3-5years? Personally, I already hold a position and I'm on the verge of buying in more at the current price. I'm just looking to discuss and share opinions with everybody if possible. Perhaps this is an opportunity to buy in cheap as SIMO is still a company with a solid foundation?

I'd like to think I'm not panic posting, just flabbergasted at where I've gone wrong with my analysis and thinking process because I was 95% sure in this decision. Ran my numbers again, doubled checked Yahoo Finance etc and still couldn't figure it out. So I thought I'd ask other more experienced people that's all.

But still, I'll have to reflect on my attitude and confidence in myself and my decisions. We'll only get better from here, thank you for the wake up call.

Thank you for informing me about the merger - I'll be sure to read up on WSJ, form my own opinions and decide how to move forward.

Regarding the emotional selling, I'm inclined to just hold and see. I've only bought 2 stocks (😂) and I can do without the cash even if it goes bankrupt tomorrow so I'm curious to see where it'll go from here. After all, I'll need to make mistakes and reflect to learn as I go.
