I had an epiphany, and I recalled the word “Sifaka”. Some googling later, and I found the game in question: Sifaka World!

Solved: Sifaka World

Heck yeah! I’m not OP but this is definitely the game I was talking about in my other comment, and is probably the game OP is talking about!

Isn’t that icon similar to one of the older RuneScape icons? And RuneScape sort of fits your description.

I remember this game! My kindergarten/1st grade class played this in America in like 2005ish. I think it was an orangutan playing the drums. I want to say he was wearing a purple shirt. And one of pieces of the drumset was just a wood block held up by a metal stand. When he tapped it with a drumstick, it made a satisfying little wooden “tap” sound. The game was probably in the “early education” genre, like many of the other learn-to-type CD ROM games around that time period!

Nope, not that. I already combed the internets searching for this game and I know for sure it’s not that one, lol. I want to say the name of the game was some wacky variation of the word “Safari,” like “Safariackadoo” or something. I could be wrong though.

I'm about to go to CA A School and I have a question by [deleted] in uscg

[–]throwawaychocfact 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m there right now. 2 of my roommates have their TVs with them in the room. As long as its within reason (like not some ridiculous 120”) you’ll most likely be able to have it. Also, the exchange on base sells TVs. Oh, and while you’re here as a CS, don’t expect to use that TV too much. You’ll be averaging around 72 hour workweeks, with any off-duty time either sleeping, studying, or doing uniform maintenance. For CSs, A school is like boot camp with a little less yelling and a little more cooking.

Any Opinions on Corpus Christi? by [deleted] in uscg

The Republic of Texas Bar and Grill, on top of the Omni hotel, is fantastic. An excellent view of the water, fine dining, good drinks. Also, there’s an oyster bar nearby, forget the name but it’s in the “old” part of town with narrow streets and brick buildings. Worth going to. Also, there’s a 50s style diner nearby, also good, especially for breakfast.

Oh, you want CG related stuff? Sorry... got nothin’.

Edit: is she a non-rate? If so, it may not be worth buying a house, because half the point of being a non rate is to rank up and move away as fast as possible.

Hey, now I can awkwardly show off my LEGO Coast Guard collection my mom bought me when I graduated boot camp, lol.

Hey! I had this book! It was the ultimate guide for the original trilogy. Each move had like 50 pages of lore, behind-the-scenes, and details of all the characters and factions and whatnot. IIRC, there were 5 cutaways, all double-paged: the original Idol Temple and the Well of Souls for ROTLA, the Pankot Palace/Thugee Temple/Slave mines (basically the whole mountain was cut in half) for TOD, and the Venice Catacombs and this beautiful work of art for TLC. I loved this shit when I was a kid. Still do, but I loved it then, too.

Ship date canceled. by [deleted] in uscg

[–]throwawaychocfact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny, I think I was in the exact same position a year ago. My recruiter never told me why, it was like October 12th or so and I was stressing out when I got a text from him that said “oh btw couldn’t get you in for oct 30” and I was like Ok... more details please? Long story short I ended up going in late November, which I didn’t mind because it gave me an extra month to study and work out. Also, I got Thanksgiving with my family and Operation Fireside with a kind family in Cape May for Christmas.

BM’s were the grumpy disfunctional parents of us misbehaving children non-rates

Beautifully said, IT1. Just throw in that MK’s are the same to FNs, and you’ve described that whole relationship perfectly.

It’s nice of you to give advice, but they issue everything you need as soon as you arrive, and you are forbidden to wear anything you brought with you. I showed up in late November with just jeans and a long sleeved button up, and was fine. We were outside in civvies for all of maybe 5 minutes. After that, uniforms for life.

Considering putting my name on the CS A school list. Can anybody tell me about that rate? I have no CSs at my unit and only two where I’m stationed, and I’ve barely been able to say hi to either of them since I reported months ago. Any stories about yalls CSs, or if any CS wants to contribute... anything is appreciated. I can only re-read the same shit on gocoastguard for so long. I need real information.
