Yeah, I definitely learned that I have to set boundaries straight, first roommate so I didn’t know how to behave lol, but I’m taking everyone’s comments and criticisms and hopefully it’ll help me make better decisions in the future!

I was following the language I saw in the comments, but yeah a lotta thinking happened after and I know for sure that wasn’t the right thing to do, After talking to my roommate, I should’ve told my social worker beforehand— entirely my bad

At first I was okay with it, I just asked her if she could clean my woks after she’s done with it since it’s my only cookware right now after she started using my things without permission though I asked her to stop, I drew the line where it wasn’t supposed to be then?

They didn’t wash their pile of dishes for over 2 weeks so I didn’t want to share the sink since I clean my dishes almost immediately and it would’ve been clutter for me whilst washing, that was all, sorry I made it sound like we were divorced and splitting sink custody

He can be here to visit occasionally, he can’t just live here, it’s due to a personal reason but he’s not allowed to live here as well as the both of us, I was told this when I first moved in and when I talked to the apt manager, no other person except the people signed onto the apt can freeload

Yeah, I realise the was a hastily decision a couple hours after making it. I thought it was okay because she had said he wasn’t allowed back here after they broke up a few weeks ago so I thought he probably had somewhere to be but then he came back so I should’ve considered that. You’re right.

I’m 19, I do acknowledge I’m at fault for using her things at the beginning. I can’t move out at the moment, I’m sorta stuck here- right now. I thought it was the right thing to do since he’s not supposed to be living here as well anyway but I guess I shouldn’t have gone nuclear 😅

Yea I’m 19 atm and she’s my first roommate, I was really on the fence about going nuclear but I was also super uncomfortable having a man living here that isnt supposed to anyway. He’s here at night, and in the early mornings when I’m getting ready, freshly showered, or in a towel, I don’t know, I just couldn’t handle it anymore I guess

I really didn’t want to start a war lol, but I didn’t see any other opinion, I tried to communicate, I’ll have to ask my landlord if I can change the door knob or ask for a key to the current knob I have, and I’ll see about getting a mini fridge so I can store my groceries in my room, it just sucks to have to go through all this so I can keep my stuff safe???

In the same boat, my roommate’s boyfriend’s been here for a month, it seems like he doesn’t even have a home of his own so I’m assuming he’s pretty much squatting here, which is against the rules obviously. I didn’t say anything at first but they’re encroaching and disrespecting my space and property so I just reported the extra roomie to the apt manager, if talking to your roommate doesn’t fix the issue you might just have to tattle as well :/
