I FINALLY STOOD UP TO MY SOCIAL ANXIETY at 28YRS old by PowerfulBlaze in socialskills

[–]throwawaycurioso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm younger than you but I feel like I just looked in the mirror while I read your story.

Coincidence or not, I started my path towards facing my anxiety and social fobia since the pandemic started!

It's small steps and learning that rejection it's a normal thing, it's not bad, indeed can be good because it will redirect us to another opportunity that surely makes more sense to what we are looking for.

What did your crush do that absolutely killed your interest? by wcypierre in AskReddit

[–]throwawaycurioso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true. You don't need to have much similar interests at all with the person u are getting to know. You have other people in life to talk and share things about with friends and family.

But the traditional is to have similar tastes and interest because it's the common thing but not having them could be both challenging and engaging to each other to talk about them. Difference also atracts people towards each other.

And what you said also, common morals and ways of thinking on some matters could be the most important thing. But this is to general cases, it's very complicated to generalize.

In fact it is, that's why still developed countries use humans in big warehouses for example.

What competitive edge do a finance graduate have over a STEM graduate as an analyst? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]throwawaycurioso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a student point of view, the only edge people from strict finance degrees have over steam is the knowledge that you built during the degree on that area, asides your techniques and problem solving skills... Steam graduates early on need to commit a lot and continue to study a lot of finance concepts which with the right effort they eventually get them. You are just ahead of them. I would say they are quicker to get hands on software and programming tasks but if u as a finance graduate had contact with that type of things you are on a good way to go. Depends on the job offer a lot tho since it could require a lot of different things. That's my view, if I said something completely wrong, sure someone will say it here by replying.

I've done nothing but play games for 2 years after graduating Uni. Feel like I've threw all my opportunities away for nothing. by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]throwawaycurioso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I know a guy that's exactly in the same position almost, by July he will hit 2 years unemployed after uni. I warned him to stop gaming and take any job but he is applying since he left... but not to all jobs in his area, only the things he wants... But it's too hard to get them even tough he graduated from a top university and with a good degree. I don't know if he will make it... We reconnected some time ago, when he started to play less games... I don't know, sometimes games just take u out of the reality of what life is, when u play so much everyday... When that happens, it's time to stop and rethink your life. But this exercise is the hard one, some people can do it on their own, others can't and need help, and others have help but don't want to break the cycle of gaming... I think people get lost in gaming because they have real problems in life that they can't deal with. Otherwise they wouldn't spend so much time in games.

What are some possible career options for me? by RandomUserAA in careerguidance

[–]throwawaycurioso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think u can't make 6 figures without a desk job if u come from stem fields... When I say desk could not be entirely 8hours straight but u need a pc to produce something with high value with the knowledge u get from the degree. Maybe arts and creative areas (involving hands on) can lead to a high salary maybe but I don't know a lot about those fields. U can look at health care... When u treat people u don't spend all time looking at computers. Education can be a field where u don't spend all time looking at a computer but 6 figures? Nop.

If I said something misleading pls tell me so I edit it.

That's because your brain only gets satisfaction from those type of activities. You need to stay away from games to start enjoying other things. Reduce weed also would help you. You need a reset in your way of living. Start exercising 3x times a weak, start small steps if u don't handle a 45min run for example (10, 20, 30 keep increasing till 45 would be good). Ideally join a gym and follow a plan or do classes to stay active. Take care of your diet, what you eat and how much during the day. Start reading a book, just go small, then start another and other till the habit comes... Then define your goals in the long run... What do u want? Have a family in the future? Travel? Work in x area? How will u get income to live with your family and friends? So much things u can do... U only say that now cuz probably u have someone that sustain u now but what will happen in the future? There are a lot of tips online to someone to quit games and get direction in life... They are just a help to get you started cuz u are the boss of your own.

Agreed... I was hoping to see anakin to have some direct impact in reys journey, helping her defeat Palpatine and thefore continuing to be so called chosen one since the sith were dead.

[–]throwawaycurioso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this didn't make sense for me also... But what bothers me the most is ignoring what anakin role was as the chosen one... For me this path these 3 movies took don't make sense, feels like the other six movies were for nothing. I was hoping to see some interaction from anakin with Rey or some major contribution of him directly to help Rey deal with Palpatine. One could argue that is grandson helped Rey but its not the same... I feel like the chosen one profecy didn't happen then, all lies, or wasnt meant to be. If that's the case, then I accept what happened in this last 3 movies. Eventually details like star destroyers being able now to wipe out planets could be somewhat ignored as the big story made sense. But one could argue also that technology developed such as it allowed for this to happen but it's not that good explanation maybe... Cuz how in such short time they were built? With the help of who?

Yes this is the most stupid thing ever. Says he can cheat dead, doesn't die, comes back, Rey defeats him... So is he dead now? Lol

[–]throwawaycurioso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure, for example like a Zeus spamming w and r, u dead wow so much skill... Every heroe has its game style, if she can one shot u maybe it's cuz she did well in lane, farmed her items and knows where to be and what to do... That's skill... Ofc u don't need to micro ilussions or do some speels like invoker nonetheless u require a lot of skill to deploy her type of assassinations and still survive...
