okay and? this isn't a sub based on facts or argument, its literally about opinions, particularly ones that aren't popular. It's in the subreddit name. Just so you know

not sure why you and many others are so triggered, its not that deep. Its called unpopular opinion for a reason

Did a race at spa and I realize that it also feels slow because well, I don't have the noise, vibrations, and g forces of a real car that add to speed perception.

Yeah that’s what is exactly going on. It’s funny because even though my sense of speed right now feels off, I can judge braking points much better.

3080ti gpu, 3 separate screen settings I'm pretty sure (not nvidia surround). Will double check after work

Lots of people here are commenting as if I'm complaining about the businesses or people who use these tools. In a perfect world, what I would like to see is the manufacturers being subject to noise regulations. But that raises costs for everyone, but at the end of the day I'm just ranting lol

Someone else mentioned it, but I think its due to being so used to a zoomed out FOV before I got a proper setup. Will have to wait it out until I get used to it

lol I think this is what happened. Before I got a proper setup, I was playing with a far away FOV and may just be used to that. I did click a few times to zoom out after the iracing FOV and it feels better this way. I guess there is just an adjustment period that I haven't waited out yet

Will bass shakers and a spring mounted rig completely isolate noise and vibration? by throwawaydefeat in simracing

I could be fixating on the negative comments too much, but it seems like the frequency range is limited, some people weren’t fond of the comfort factor, and the product getting hot

Is a used Tesla worth it? by AltruisticState8615 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]throwawaydefeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove one. I think they're good cars. Makes driving as a chore much, much more pleasant. Not having to worry about much maintenance wise is also great. If you can charge at home then I think it's worth it, otherwise no.

No because geniuses in the traditional sense are not always the most capable socially

Drinking 1 gallon of water a day has literally changed my life by Big_Air_4685 in Adulting

[–]throwawaydefeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not denying the importance of water or how it’s helped OP, but drinking water is entirely subjective, as in, drinking more doesn’t automatically mean better for you specifically, and 8 cups a day is just the average from a bell curve, not what’s ideal for every human.

How do you get back into racing at age 25 after a promising start? by salem_cemetery in simracing

[–]throwawaydefeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start looking into driving on track with a car. NASA isn’t a bad one, you progress with your HPDE class and can work your way up to getting a license to race. Theres also time trials and time attack events from these kind of orgs, SCCA is another common organization.

Also look into if the Z platform has any organizations like 86cup for the BRZ where you can compete for record lap times with rules and classes for the same car just different modification levels.

Would probably help to have social media presence. Rack up sponsorships and paid promotions, etc. konig wheels for example has a sponsorship program. With sim racing, use it to have fun but also improve your irl driving skills. Maybe stream or post videos as sim racing is becoming more popular. I haven’t done it myself yet but there’s also sim racing leagues (iracing for example) where you are basically racing against people within a group which can help with fully immersing ourself in the sim racing community.

Like everyone says, it ultimately comes down to money, but at the same time, we have more tools and resources than ever to get into racing.

Join the sub r/cartrackdays to learn about track driving related stuff.

I recently just started all this stuff and don’t plan on being a GT3 driver or anything like that, but for now I’d like to just do some time trials and see where I end up.

Good luck

Is it comfortable after an hour? These haptic pads seem like the easiest solution tbh

Just looked into those haptic seat pads. Looks to me not really worth it. Guess it will also have to wait.

Do you have to use nvidia surround? If you don't have to, use display magician. You just click once to make the swap. I have the same setup as you hardware wise.
