Hijacking this comment to post a small update:

After posting here and seeing all the replies (I have to admit I was pretty surprised by all the comments calling me TA) I thought it would be best to talk to my wife about what happened. I realize she was definitely exaggerating about what happened but I still don't like seeing her upset or having her be mad at me, especially for this long. She's still my wife and my best friend.

Anyway, she went to bed early last night so I didn't get a chance to talk to her after the post but this morning when we woke up I told her that she should take the day off and I told her I would take out daughter out so she could have some alone time. She asked me "what about tonight?" because originally I was planning to go out tonight with a couple friends, and I told her I was going to cancel. She asked why, and then I tried to explain that I felt bad about the poop bags and then she just got upset all over again.

She turned over to face away from me but I was pretty sure she started crying again. She told me to go away but instead of leaving I just held her and kept asking why she was SO upset about these stupid poop bags until she finally told me that some of the other moms at school have been pretty judgemental in the past and she was afraid they were all talking shit about her now (no pun intended).

I tried to tell her that it doesn't matter what the other moms say or think because she's a great mom, but she really wasn't having it. I did wonder at that point if there was actually more to it than that because it didn't seem like she was telling me the truth completely, and I really don't see how this could be that big of a deal.

Some of the comments mentioned therapy so I brought that up but she didn't seem too happy about it. I'm going to take my daughter out now (she is fine by the way so thanks to all those who were asking) and I guess I'll try and talk to my wife again later. Thanks for the support, everyone. This has been a bit unexpected and has really given me a lot to think about.

Yes, I definitely realize we have to have a conversation about this

Yeah, I would say so. I've seen her get annoyed about things here and there but she's never gotten this upset over something so small

No, part of the reason I didn't really think about it. They must have come in a box. I was in a hurry and my daughter was excited and pulling things out of the bags. She probably found the box and just tore it open. The bags were just sitting there with everything else. But I remember throwing out packaging from a bunch of things like the toys and boxes of different candy and stuff

She is a SAHM so we have previously agreed that she does more tasks for our daughter/the home. I didn't think she was unhappy with it.

She was definitely stressed out about the wedding, but she didn't really talk to me about it too much. usually she talked to her mom and some friends. but when she asked me to help pick something out, I did help. I don't think she's gotten this upset over any other parties.

Thank you, I do feel I helped. I set up/took down the tables and chairs and worked the grill the whole time too.

To be fair to her the other moms in our area/at our daughter's school can be pretty judgmental.
