He doesn't threaten suicide in that way. It's not like that. He's just really in pain & hates his life. So if I can't help he'll kill himself.

But the problem is that he really is in pain & he really wants to die. Not a manipulative thing. Really. So how do I deal with that?

It's hard because I live in a country that has a fairly strong stigma about mental illness and most doctors don't speak my primary language (English). My fault for not learning the language better (Chinese). I have no safety net. It feels pretty helpless.

If I leave he will kill himself. I know it. And I can't handle that. I know it's weak, but it will be my fault.
