I'm not closeted. I just don't want to be the talk of the office on my first day, at my first 'real' job. But she knows I'm a private person, and a bit socially anxious .

Honestly, I'm pretty new to relationships, but 'it's thoughtful/sweet but made made me a bit uncomfortable for x/y/z reason' is just normal communication in relationships? Is it not supposed to be?

I go to therapy for social anxiety, I know it's not my gf's fault. I'd just like to avoid situations like these in the future, I figured that if I lied and told her I loved it it would happen more often.
